What a place! It is such an impressive building - so grand. The staff were lovely - very helpful and hardworking. It was exceptionally quiet. We were on the ground floor at the back and felt like we had the sunny garden to ourselves. We had a massive room and a big bathroom and even an entrance sitting room. The decor makes you feel like you are staying in a 1920s castle. A characterful place. You had to walk up the hill to the town centre but it was only about 10 minutes & this meant the nights were quiet. Plenty of hot water.

The room is excellent -- perhaps the best bed and pillow I've encountered in my extensive travels. There's a great quiet in the space as well, and access to a well-equipped shared kitchen. The neighborhood is safe and reasonably close -- easy walking distance -- to the main plaza and the various cultural, religious and culinary siites around it. To top it off, a great value at around $10 USD per night. Thank you, Casa de Turistas!

This is my second stay here when returning to Arequipa. It is a casona house in the historic centre. The rooms are nice with high ceiling. The host is very helpful and provided convenience for me after checkout as many other guests also with late hour departure flights or buses. Highly recommended.
