If you are ready for a breath of fresh, cool(er) air, then be ready for Highland Resort and Nature Tours in Tomohon. This delightful collection of villas is set at an elevation of 650 meters (2132 feet). Beautiful landscaping and lovely accommodations. We slept very comfortably in our room - even without an aircon unit! The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating. They helped to arrange drivers and tours during our stay. We went to the crater edge of Gunung Lokon Volcano and later went to Tekaan Telu Waterfall. Along the way, we were greeted by friendly and curious locals. Be sure to learn a few basic greetings in Bahasa Indonesia and you may just find yourself a welcome guest anywhere you go! We arranged our own bird guide and had an excellent birdwatching tour. We were able to see a number of species that were high on our list, including the Scaley-breasted Kingfisher & the Superb Fruit Dove! Due to Paskah (Easter), we may not have experienced the food the way the lodge intended. Meals had to be ordered from town and not all options were available. Despite that, the staff was helpful in ensuring our stay was pleasant. We loved our stay at Highland Resort and hope we have a chance to come back!

Great hosts, clean and comfortable bungalows (western standard, most comfortable bed we have had in months!), delicious breakfast, Lokon volcano view, and fury friends (only outside the buildings) make this a perfect place to stay in Tomohon. Jan is happy to help you plan your trips / excursions and also drive you to sites, or you can rent a scooter from him.

Jan, the host, is super friendly and helpful. We could rent a scooter from him directly and he had lots of useful tips for things to visit in the area! The breakfast was delicious (especially the local one) and we also did some laundry for a good price.

The bungalows in this garden are comfortably furnished with lots of wood, carvings and wickerwork and all have an inviting veranda. The restaurant is not yet fully green, but serves outstanding food, healthy, unusual and plentiful, even for vegetarians.

The main shared space was large and well set out. Food was good. Owners offer a great day tour and are very helpful in organising transport. Angie, the owner, went over and above to make our stay in Tomohon amazing with a variety of things to see over a large geographical area. The view from the bungalows over the volcano was beautiful.

The bungalows are beautiful with an amazing jungle view, nice and very helpful staff and very kind and friendly owners. I booked an day tour with one of the owners. We went to the extreme market, hiking, hot springs and more! It was awesome :)

They were perfect hosts and also the tour with Arno was great. He can tell very much about the history and the special features of the region. We would definitely recommend this stay, since it was a great experience. In particular the food is really good and freshly cooked and they also have good options for veggies.
