It’s clean and well located and the manager was fantastic (as most Japanese stays are) but it’s also spacious, beautifully equipped and has its own private sanctuary in the back yard! Truly, it is something to see. What a treat at the end of the day (and 30,000 steps) to come home to such a great accommodation. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It was the perfect base and experience of Machiya. We spent evenings relaxing looking at the snow falling in the garden - the underfloor heating was amazing keeping the house warm and cosy. The location was great for exploring the Samurai museum and other temples in the area. Highly recommend it - we will definitely stay again when we visit Kanazawa.

This is the most comfortable sleep I had the entire time I was in Japan and I slept in many different places. It was nice being able to do our laundry. There's a full kitchen but we didn't use it. The bathroom had space for me to do my hair and makeup and even had a magnifying mirror. The host was very nice and welcoming. There was a book of instructions for all the appliances and electronics and the host even sent a list of preferred restaurants and other things nearby.

It was in a great location, well-appointed and had dedicated parking. The owners were very kind and accommodating. We will definitely try to stay here again if we return to the region.
