We stayed for a week and were blown away by the standard of the accommodation and the fantastic hospitality. Eduarda and her team are brilliant and genuinely go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We were always made to feel welcome and were even invited to a nearby concert, which was excellent. Marina deserves a special mention as she not only prepared fab breakfasts each morning, but gave us local advice, recommendations and just nice chit chat! Our room - the blue room - had everything we needed, super clean, well appointed and quiet. Comfortable bed. The hotel is like a museum, everything is charming and quaint but also modern and well-finished. Breakfast selection was always great, local produce and coffee always on hand . We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place.

She made sure I was properly checked in and everything was in order, and gave some extra tips about the small town.

It is bright, modern and very comfortable. The apartment had everything that we needed for our 1.5 week trip, including a crib and high chair for our baby. The hosts were incredibly friendly, accommodating and quick to respond to any of our requests. The location of the apartment is very central and was a great base for exploring the rest of the island.

On our first day, we went in early to drop our bags. The hosts offered us breakfast and said we could wait until our checkout time in the lounge area. They were the kindest people. They even told us about the attractions we should visit and the best routes to get there. Were above and beyond our expectations.

Situated in Ribeira Grande and within 300 metres of Ponte dos Oito Arcos, Matriz Guest House has a garden, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. Rossana welcomed us and was very professional, kind and helpful. Our room had a beautiful and stunning ocean view. One only thing, we had just a little much light in the morning but Rossana helped us facing this. We had a great time. She makes also excellent homemade jams and offers some liquors (I very recommend ginggjinha).
