My wife and I spent 7 days at Mailagama Cinnamon Residence. The hotel is located in a very beautiful and quiet place in the middle of green rice fields. We loved to walk and there were many routes around - there were large lakes nearby. You meet very few people, just many-many peacocks or a lonely lizard. The hotel is nice looking and comfortable. Our room was clean and large. There was very good hot water pressure, probably the best of the 9 hotels in Sri Lanka where we stayed. Terrace with beautiful views of the surrounding area. There was a large space for working on a laptop, doing yoga and meditation, with fans running. As we are freelancers it was essential for us. We were delighted with the food cooked by two very kind ladies. The hotel manager was incredibly attentive to all our needs, very punctual and obliging. We were also glad to meet the hotel owners. Indira and her husband showed us their cinnamon plantations. It is not like in numerous “Spice gardens”, where they try to sell tourists cinnamon at an increased price. There was a small family production here, which was specially shown to us. You can buy cinnamon, but no one imposes it. We bought some as gifts for our friends. And we were also very grateful to our hosts for driving us along the highway. Within half an hour we met 3 elephants, a herd of buffalo and deer. And this was not a nature reserve, but an ordinary road. On another day we went on a safari to Yala Park. We saw 3 leopards, wild pigs and many other animals. The safari was booked through the hotel, the price was quite normal. Overall, this is one of the best hotels in terms of price-quality. Many people only stay for a day to go on safari, but this place deserves more. We are going to return here next year and recommend this hotel to everyone who likes nature

Offering a garden and garden view, Thomasha Homestay & Tuk Tuk Service is set in Wellawaya, 6.9 km from Buduruwagala Temple and 26 km from Ella Rock. The air-conditioned accommodation is 34 km from Demodara Nine Arch Bridge. The guest house features family rooms. Family was wellcoming us like our own. Home made dinner were so delicious. Also we had an oportunity to spend time with his family and serve food for the monks in the temple. These memories we will never forget, this all experience was so so special. I reccomend to everybody who wants to spend chill time outside of touristic Ella.

The room was extremely comfortable and very clean but the best thing was the family that run this guesthouse, very kind and welcoming. The lady cooked a spectacular dinner, the best I have had since I'm in Sri Lanka, the daughter is a very smart girl who speaks very good English, she explained to me about the Sri Lankan culture and traditions of Kataragama. Last but not least I could book the safari through them at a very affordable price. I recommend this place 100%

Very closer to the Kataragama temple as well. The owner Mr. Dinesh and his wife were very helpful. We will visit once again to this awesome place. We definitely recommend this guests house.

A car rental service is available at the guest house. I loved it. It actually costs more to use the Aircon but I didn't need it, even though it was the hottest time of year and I nap at noon. The hotel is surrounded by a Garden, which keeps it cool. I loved this town, surrounded by lots of pretty rural roads to wander. The staff were really kind and the location was perfect, a short walk from the bus station.
