J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse ligger i Hongu, 10 minuters bilresa eller 70 minuters promenad längs pilgrimsleden Kumano Kodo från kustorten Kumano Hongu Taisha. Super cool hostel. The staff was super nice, and the people I met there as well. The private onsens were great, especially the outdoor one. I slept on the dormitory, and the futon beds were really comfortable and you had a lot of space for yourself. As there are not many food options around, they asked me before if I wanted to order a bento box, which I did. It was very delicious. I would really recommend this place to stay during the Kumano Kodo. Super great hostel and also great value!

If you have a small group, the 4 ppl room on the 3rd floor is perfect. The place has lots of great info in multiple languages and the affiliated izakaya was the perfect place to go for dinner.

Lovely little guesthouse with three rooms. Very cosy shared living area. You sleep on tatamis (comfortable!) and bathroom facilities are shared. We arrived by car and there was parking. Our host gave us some excellent recommendations around town. It’s in a residential neighbourhood about a 10 minute walk down to the beach and the tourist area, which is really nice (as the centre of town feels a bit touristy)

It was clean, convenient, and had every amenity. The host was outstanding and I was very pleased that he picked us up from the train station. It is the best guesthouse I have stayed at and would definitely return.

Nice staff, care about their guest, I arrived in raining day, they provide the personal shoe drying service for us, it's touching.

Our host was very welcoming and friendly. They let us leave our bags there during the day before check in. The room was spacious and comfortable. Great facilities and a delicious breakfast in the morning.

They even helped us with our luggage transfer to the accommodation for the next day

This was such a great stay! Simon and Yumiko, the owners of this small Guesthouse are such lovely and inviting people. Simon met us at Kii-Tanabe station at our pre-discussed time, and drove the 25 min to the remote guesthouse. The atmosphere around the property is serene and so quiet, such a good change in pace compared to Osaka! Simon helped us with our Kumano Kodo walking plan, and then the next morning dropped us off at the start of the hike, another 30 min drive away. There’s a small shrine that you can walk to close to the property. There are two guest rooms on property, we were the only ones there, so it wasn’t loud. We had a microwave, fridge, electric kettle and heater/air conditioner unit in our room. They also provide coffee and green tea and cups! Highly recommend!
