Super cool hostel. The staff was super nice, and the people I met there as well. The private onsens were great, especially the outdoor one. I slept on the dormitory, and the futon beds were really comfortable and you had a lot of space for yourself. As there are not many food options around, they asked me before if I wanted to order a bento box, which I did. It was very delicious. I would really recommend this place to stay during the Kumano Kodo. Super great hostel and also great value!

If you have a small group, the 4 ppl room on the 3rd floor is perfect. The place has lots of great info in multiple languages and the affiliated izakaya was the perfect place to go for dinner.

The host took some memorable pictures of us, which we also really appreciate. This is a special place ran by a genuine, down-to-earth host. Thank you G-Sun for creating a lovely Wakayama experience!

Set just 1.4 km from Shirarahama Beach, ゲストハウス三軒家 features accommodation in Shirahama with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. If you want to experience real Japanese hospitality, this is the place to go. The owners went out of their way helping us to get our daughter's phone back, which she had left on the train (driving to the station in the middle of the night and organizing the key to the train!). The hotel is very cozy and the coffee (home-roasted) is great. Thank you very much!

Set in Shingu in the Wakayama region, with Kamikura Shrine and Shingu Castle Ruins Park nearby, くまの蔵inn Warehouse offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. We were overwhelmed by the kindness Koji-san showed us! The warehouse is a beautiful little apartment and we would have loved to stay even longer.

He tried to help us have the best experience possible on our Kumano Kodo. Is also just a lovely human. The accommodation is in the most gorgeous place, because it was not in a central location. Simon works very hard to shuttle his guests to and from Tanabe and the trailhead. The house itself is beautiful and we enjoyed talking to him and learning about his small village of 70 people.
