Cannot recommend this place enough! The owners were super friendly and helped us figure out the best route to get to see all the attractions. They even invited us to a matcha ceremony and showed us around a bit! If you happen to want to visit Hokuei, you need to check out this place. We will be back again, for sure :)

After a long day cycling this guesthouse was a clean, cozy and welcome stop for the night. the hostess was wonderful and very helpful.

Located at the foot of Mount Daisen and a 3-minute walk from Daisen-ji Temple, guests at Shukubo Kansho-in Temple Sanrakuso can experience staying in a traditional Japanese temple. The food is amazing! The best food ((highlight) of our 12-day trip. It beats all the fancier meals we have paid for. We love how the host sets up the meals at windows with different amazing natural views every time. The food itself is beyond expectations. I did not even like vegetarian food before, but I love their food. The Kaiseki style has many varieties of courses, and everything is delicious. We especially like the tempura of local greens found in this mountain.

It had a very homey feel, and even tho it is a shared space (for the public amenities), it did not feel crowded nor noisy. The location was just a walk across the coast as well.

Also makes sure that if there are enough rooms, she puts everyone into one single dorm so everyone has their space. Also was ok with leaving the luggage for a bit after check-out.

Destiny Inn Sakaiminato is located in Honjōmachi, 20 km from Matsue. Private parking is available on site. Some units include views of the mountain or river. Good location for the kitaro street. Near the station. Very clean, the owner is interested in traveling.

Jock is a wonderful host, very giving with his time and tips. Made us takoyaki, which was yum!!! Parents found the chairs a bit hard (used to a sofa :) ), but it was fine. Location was fine, ten mins to at least 2 supermarkets and maybe 15 mins to main train station - easy to walk.
