Very beautifull building right next to the beach. Our room was very big, kitchen area was clean and a nice place to hang out. The coffee was nice as well. Barbara is a very friendly and kind host who helps with all of your questions!

Set in Amami, 2 km from Asani Beach, Kami House offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The accommodation provides a hot tub, free WiFi and family rooms. Everything! Really lovely and helpful hosts and the house is very beautiful and clean. I also recommend eating Keihan as a breakfast there, it's a delicious local dish. When I return to Amami, I will definitely stay here again ♥️

Set in Yakushima, within 10 km of Shiratani Unsuikyo and 23 km of Mount Miyanoura, Yakushima Park Guesthouse offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free... I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic Hidekazu-san was as a host. He was invaluable in offering tips and suggestions for my 2 night stay on Yakushima island. The location was quite centrally as well in the Miyanoura town area. This guesthouse is a renovated standard Japanese home but it had all the amenities that one could hope for. My shoes were completely soaked from hiking Yakushima but staff there helped me dry out overnight.

Set within a few steps of Higashi Beach and 200 metres of Kaminoko Beach, Guest room Halemakana offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Amami. Sea view! The owners were very nice and helpful, gave us a some maps and some hand drawn map to explain the area. We found a beer and a coke in our fridge as a welcome gesture!

Offering inner courtyard views, Guesthouse Coco Garage is an accommodation situated in Kirishima, 5.8 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 19 km from Ebino Plateau. We spent great moments here. Inside the house, it is pretty warm. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. An excellent place, the house is exceptionally clean. We had a bedroom that was very comfortable with a view on Anbo river. Breakfast is exceptional, traditional Japanese with an egg and ham, every day different options. The hosts are very, very nice people.

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. It was the perfect place for my stay in Yakushima!! The host is the kindest and has so many tips and informations for Yakushima and how to get around the island, it was very helpful (especially with the bus timetables). She's the sweetest and will definitively make you feel at home in Tomarigi. She can also cook you her handmade onigiris when you go for a hike and I have to be honest, they're the best onigiris I had in Japan so far! The place is very well equipped, the bed are comfortable and the traditional japanese bathtub is really a plus, that was great after a long day of hiking. You can cook with a well equipped outdoor kitchen and do your laundry for free. It's very calm and quiet (yes, the airport is nearby but I've never heard the few planes take off or land, which was a pleasant surprise) and there are drugstores and bus stops nearby. Plus you can buy bus tickets at the air airport/information center so really, it's a great emplacement. I really, really loved the ambiance inside Tomarigi, this place really have a soul of its own and when I stayed there for three weeks, I really felt at home. I would totally recommend this place, for a long or short term stay.
