Set in Amami, 2 km from Asani Beach, Kami House offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The accommodation provides a hot tub, free WiFi and family rooms. Everything! Really lovely and helpful hosts and the house is very beautiful and clean. I also recommend eating Keihan as a breakfast there, it's a delicious local dish. When I return to Amami, I will definitely stay here again ♥️

Situated in Yakushima, 12 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, 屋久の宿 たぐち features rooms with air conditioning. If you want a real authentic experience while traveling through Japan staying over at Yakunoyado Taguchi on Yakushima island is the way to go! The hosts are very friendly and accomodating, helping you with whatever questions you have, discussing your plans visiting Yakushima island, giving tips on what to see and what not. We suffered from jetlag arriving at Yakushima but either the island magic, the great futon beds or a combination of both made it disappear without a trace. Rooms are clean. There's two bathrooms equipped with a large bath and shower to be used by all guests. These are modern and also very clean! Make sure to book at least 1x Diner and Breakfast as these are very good!! As we weren't able to explore Yakushima to the fullest we'll definitely come back and book here again!

Set within a few steps of Higashi Beach and 200 metres of Kaminoko Beach, Guest room Halemakana offers rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Amami. Sea view! The owners were very nice and helpful, gave us a some maps and some hand drawn map to explain the area. We found a beer and a coke in our fridge as a welcome gesture!

Offering inner courtyard views, Guesthouse Coco Garage is an accommodation situated in Kirishima, 5.8 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 19 km from Ebino Plateau. We spent great moments here. Inside the house, it is pretty warm. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. Very kind and helpful owners of the hotel.

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. There is only 1 main accommodation area and the house has high roof, so it feels very open and spacious for me. Well ventilated with plenty of fresh air and natural light. I loved the feel of a wooden Japanese house. Everything was very clean and cozy. Loved the outdoor kitchen, lovely outdoor cooking experience; and outdoor areas, makes it easy to dry up after a rainy hiking day. The home is well equipped with racks and amenities (washing clothes, cooking). The host was so warm and caring, she checked in with you to provide necessary information on getting around and visiting Yakushima. Ask her about the meaning of the name Tomarigi, it’s very sweet. Thank you so much for my comfortable and close-to-nature stay, I had an amazing time!
