Stayed for 2 nights 21 to 23 September What's there not to like? My stay was exceptional. The place itself has a cottage like vibe. It has everything you need and the decor, features etc is very high spec. Fully equipped kitchen, fridge, microwave etc. A TV with "proper" channels including netflix, very comfortable indeed. Lesley is on hand to answer and help with any questions or queries about the area and things to do. Plus they also offer a very reasonable, very flexible taxi service. Tiptop!!! The cottage is warm and cosy. It is set back in an area surrounded by beautiful green land and in a garden with lovely garden furniture and ample seating areas. It really has the best backdrop. There is also a fully equipped gym which I had the opportunity to use, very considerate to open it up for guests. The hosts have thought about everything you may need for a comfortable getaway. They were brilliant hosts, Lesley and Pat, their welcome was more like going to stay with friends for the weekend! The nicest people you would ever want to meet, hands on, making sure you're comfortable, super pleasant, engaging and just really really nice folks. I highly recommend the Glen Adorable... the name says it all!

Boasting a tennis court and views of quiet street, Edelweiss Guest House is a recently renovated guest house situated in Southend-on-Sea, 100 metres from Southchurch Beach. Great location a few steps away from the beach. Bus stop into town just around the corner. Close to several places to eat and drink. Lovely clean room - spotless - and tea coffee and milk left in the room too along with the necessary bathroom bits. The host Zara was very helpful and had left nothing to chance. Would happily stay here again - recommended.

Ivy Todd cottage, a property with a garden, is situated in Debden, 6.5 km from Audley End House, 13 km from Stansted Mountfitchet Station, as well as 30 km from University of Cambridge. Gorgeous little cottage in a peaceful environment. Spotlessly clean, and full of delightful surprises. The breakfast is ready in the kitchen, which was a wonderful solution, when had to leave at early hours to catch plane. 20 minutes from Stansted airport, it was a very convenient location.

I was in a small single room with shared bathroom which is perfect if you are on a budget. 10 minute walk to the train station and 1 minute to the beach, shops, busses, pier, arcades etc. There are also large rooms for families and couples.

The best inn I have ever stayed inn! It's a 1500s building and it is gorgeous and fascinating inside. So much to look at, lovingly and tastefully restored and preserved. See pics. Fantastic staff. I didn't use the pub / restaurant but it looked superb. I did have breakfast which was 10 out of 10, see pic. The location is in the heart of the historic old town, all the streets are narrow and quaint, I managed to find parking up the street, but the whole area wasn't designed for motor cars. Be aware that the many steep stairs are not suitable if you have mobility issues or heavy suitcases, so if that's you call them to discuss your options. See the pic of the paper they gave me to help me navigate the labyrinth! Overall the best historic property I have ever stayed in, and I have travelled a lot. Don't miss staying here!
