What an absolutely delightful place to call home for a few days! We were looking for a restful spot on a quiet beach after our safari and this was it. The building itself is fascinating….lots of history within, unique and quirky and has everything you need and more. Our rooms were comfy and clean and the balcony in each room overlooking the beach was great. Massi and Miria are the perfect host…there when you need them with answers to all your questions. All staff were so kind and friendly…restaurant staff with whom we interacted the most were the best. The daily breakfast had a perfect selection of continental and hot options. And a juice with fruit and avocado that I wish I could have bottled and brought back home. We ate all three dinners there and they were out of this world (I’m running out of superlatives to describe our stay!). With Massi’s obvious influence they were all traditional Italian. Four amazing courses each night and only $20 USD per person. Worth so much more. I wholeheartedly recommend Zanzibar House as a perfect place to stay for a beach break. Suggest taking the taxi service offered on their site as we chose not to and our cab driver had difficulty locating it. With the help of a kind local on a motorbike however, we did. Small Place with just 4 Rooms for rent. Felt almost like a homestay. Super friendly and flexible host who can also organize pick up from pier or airport.

We were thoroughly impressed. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities including a TV. The hotel staff were truly awesome - they were welcoming, friendly and always ready to assist with any request or inquiry. The location of the hotel is perfect, with stunning views of the ocean and easy access to the beach. The hotel's facilities and services were top-notch, with a fantastic restaurant serving delicious meals and offered a great selection of soft drinks and fresh juices. One of the highlights of my stay was the fantastic service provided by the hotel staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, and their friendly and attentive approach really made me feel at home. Overall, I highly recommend the Isla Bonita hotel for anyone visiting Matemwe, Zanzibar. The combination of clean and comfortable rooms, stunning location, delicious food, and outstanding service makes it a top choice for accommodation on the island.

Mohammed Bungalows er et familiedrevet rimelig overnattingssted med en fantastisk beliggenhet helt ute ved stranden. Fra restauranten kan man følge med på folkelivet på stranden. De billigste rommene ligger noe tilbaketrukket uten utsikt men rommet jeg leide lå i 2. etasje med veranda og strandutsikt. Rett bak hotellet ligger en landsby hvor det er spennende å spasere rundt for å oppleve hvordan lokalbefolkningen lever - kontrastene er store !
