Brian and Sarah were so nice and hospitable! They picked me up at the bus station, gave me a welcome drink, and answered all my question. Brian helped set up the jungle trek with Rosyid, who was a incredible guide. He was very knowledgeable, fun and made sure we had a great time. Definitely recommend booking the trek through the guesthouse. I’m going to have to come back and do a longer trek with them.

The family that owned the hotel were so lovely and very helpful! They organised our 2 day, 1 night jungle trek, very good price and great experience! The food here was also amazing! In the evening they took us around Bukit lawang into the village and spent time with the lovely local playing pool and card games. What a trip we had and for sure will be recommending this place to friends and family 🫶🏼

Set in Bukit Lawang in the Sumatra region, Happy Ria Homestay & Guesthouse has a garden. The property features mountain and garden views. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace.

This is a big charming, wooden house unlike anything else we saw in Bukit Lawang. It’s beautiful and has a lot of character. The location is great, up many stairs but it’s worth it. Close to nearby restaurants and ‘Jack’s Bar’ which we loved for live music and awesome cocktails in a real jungle setting. The staff are so lovely and helped us with everything we needed, they organised a trek into the jungle for us and a day trip to their conservation site where we saw lots of orangutans. Banana pancakes for breakfast were so delicious too, thank you Ridho! Highly recommend staying here!

Located in Bukit Lawang in the Sumatra region, Jhony's Backpacker-Guest House features a terrace. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available.

I stayed 1 night here, it was really good and comfy. Jhony, who is owner here. he is very kind and welcoming. Bukit Lawang is small country side, so it is hard to expect high quality of facilities as like as cities. No AC but I couldn’t really feel it is hot because of fan. And he offered Jungle trekking guide as well. It was a bit pricey for guiding in this area but you might can get good prices if you negotiate with him. I saw wild orangutans and other monkeys! He has good knowledge about nature.

We had a lovely stay here, the family was super friendly and really helped us with everything: getting transportation, earlier breakfast, extra GB for our SIM card, laundry and more! The food was really good and there’s a semi wild orang utan with a baby that climbs in the trees next to the huts sometimes! I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a great time at the guesthouse. Brian is a great host and is mindful of his community and the environment. He invests in those who have need of it. We arranged our jungletrek through Brian and had a great time spending two nights on the jungle with Brosit and the guys. We lacked nothing and learned a lot about the animals we saw. Great experience!

I made a 2-day 1-night visit to Bukit Lawang and the jungle with a colleague on short notice. We both had our own little cottage. Asim Paris Guesthouse arranged the transport to Bukit Lawang, the jungle tour, and the transport to Medan Airport. We enjoyed the dinner at the guesthouse. Also the breakfast with banana pancakes and fresh fruit was really nice. During the jungle tour with tour guides Bim(bo) and Martin we spotted a lot of Urangutans and other monkeys. Overall we had a short but very nice stay.

Bryan is a great host. His huts are basic, but absolutely great for everyone seeking a little adventure. He made sure I was really comfortable and even took me to the ATM, which is in the next village (bring enough money to Bukit Lawang!). Bryan is very active in animal conservation, so Booking a tour with him is a really good idea. He and his team really respect the animals. I had a wonderful time!

The people at the guesthouse were the nicest, warmest people I've ever met in a guesthouse. No matter what u need Brian will be there to help you to organize everything also they provide really good and really cheap food and drinks for you and make you feel welcome as it can be. I'm really sad to leave and looking forward to coming back one day. Big thank you to Brian, his wife and all the other lovely people working there.

    - The staff was really friendly - We booked the jungle tour here: The overall experience was quite nice (especially the guides) but many people in our group had problems with their stomach after we ate the food in the jungle. - The stay is at the end of the village, therefore it is quiet -The staff picked us up at the bus station and drove us around through the village when we switched our hostel

Quiet guesthouse and restaurant right on the river in Bukit Lawang town centre. Loved the location. Two rooms only, which are awesome - spacious, super clean and the photos are exactly what you get. Super comfortable bed and great bathroom. Did a great overnight trek with guide Hendra based at Enter Point also.

It is cosy and quiet and has a small garden which makes me comfortable. There is a good restaurant next to it. I enjoyed cheap and good food there. And I met my trekking guide TAMBRIN there. He speaks good English. He is very good at making orangutans come close so I can take a lot of good pictures. The lunch he provided was also very nice. I miss him and hope to come again with my friends to go jungle trekking with him. Thank you TAMBRIN.

I cannot recommend this place enough! The staff were so professional and welcoming. I did the 2 day jungle trek with Jojo and Obay and they were exceptional, so knowledgeable and respectful of the jungle and kept us entertained in the evening with magic tricks and making jewellery for us from plants. The guesthouse has a great location beside the river, with hammocks and seats to hang out on. There is good food at the restaurant and the rooms are clean and comfortable, such good value for money.
