The Wayside and Whisky Barn is situated on the South West coast of the Lake District National Park at the base of Black Combe and 3 miles from Silecroft beach. It has free parking, a well stocked bar including numerous malt whiskys and a restaurant serving home-cooked food.

The Wayside & Whisky Barn ticked all the boxes. First class service, super comfortable beds, a beautiful roaring log fire in our bedroom and of course an amazing selection of over 150 whiskies. Not forgetting the delicious breakfasts with fresh home baked breads, plus we had a fantastic 3 course meal followed by Irish coffees on the Saturday night, total perfection. We will definitely be back soon.

The Pavilion Guest House is situated on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, and just 2km from the Cumbrian coastal area of Duddon Sands. Full Cumbrian breakfasts using local produce are served in the dining room.

Great price, Brilliant location with sea views from the Breakfast table, rooms were excellent and a great breakfast served by Karen every morning who was a superb host. Highly recommend if you are ever in Capetown.

Room was cozy and clean with a spacious bathroom. All amenities were available and small details were looked into like keeping tissues bedside, etc. Breakfast was delicious! Highly recommended.

We didn’t know the area so Emikos local knowledge of the not so touristy places to visit was invaluable. We found some absolutely beautiful hidden gems. She really made our stay so memorable. We had 5 nights at the Wayside and wished we had booked longer. The guesthouse was spotless and very comfortable. The room was very comfortable. The food was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is in a quiet area of the lakes away from the hustle and bustle.
