A wonderful place to stay. Jim, the host, was so kind. He arranged dinner for us when we were late arriving, he looked after our bikes, gave us a splendid breakfast. Amazingly huge trees in the garden. We loved it!

Very welcoming staff and very comfortable room. Food was excellent. We came here as a stop off on our way through the area and we've booked to return next month when we travel back this way again.

Decent cooked English breakfast with some other options including veggie plus selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt. I feel that the hotel is competently run and that the proprietors have tried to provide a good guest experience. Great location in the middle of amazing scenery with plenty of places to visit within an hours drive. I’d have been happy to stay longer.

The staff were very welcoming, the service, very efficient, and for anyone travelling with their favourite 4 leg companion, dogs were very welcome in the bar. A lock up was also available for cyclists. Our room was very quiet...(stairs a little squeaky!) and our bed was so comfy, a lovely deep sleep after dinner in the restaurant. A lovely breakfast was served next morning.

My room was very clean, and nicely tidied while I was out. Breakfast was tasty, and I had a nice glass of wine in an otherwise empty lounge at night. I could have chosen to go to the bar, but preferred the quiet. Great location for cycling and hiking, and will definitely return. Lovely garden. Had a pleasant chat with a young man who works there, and who helped me out when I struggled with my door lock!MichaelSolo traveller
