We booked two nights and ended up staying three because we feel in love with Schruns & this hotel. Everything was perfect and this was easily our favorite hotel. We booked a trip to Austria without much research knowing we wanted to do hiking and Rene (owner) helped us so much - he is so knowledgable about the local trails, the hut system and buses/trains since we didn't have a car. The bed is so comfortable, incredible hot showers and the balcony views is gorgeous. The breakfast buffet is AMAZING, we went to bed every night giddy for the morning. This is the best basecamp town & hotel if you want to do hiking, visit the huts or trek between huts. We can't wait to come back for ski season!!

Large apartment, separate rooms and spacious. Lovely balcony with view over valley below. While the road is steep and narrow to it, there is a VERY easy path into Tschagguns which is only 5 minutes walk.

Really friendly hosts. Perfect location , close to the ski areas Clean and quiet . Sandra provided us with everyday info about events around the area . Free parking !!

Very good breakfast. Also, they let us keep some belongings there that we didn't need during our 5 day hut to hut. Much appreciated!

Haus Matschitz is located on the second middle station of the cable car from Golm. From this station it is only a 1 minute walk to the Haus Matschwitz I was travelling with my 7 year old son for skiing over the weekend, and it was perfect. We were the first on the run in the morning, when everyone else was still in line to get up to the cable car. In the afternoon at 4pm, when the skiing is closed, we just unplug our skies and go to our room, enjoy the sun going down and then the dinner. It comes with soup, salad and the choice of four meals (e.g. Wiener Schnitzel, Asia food, cheese Spätzle etc.). And a desert like cake of course.

Good location, spacious room and friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is very good. Sauna and pool area is also good. Free large parking onsite. Available ski storage room and free on-demand mini bus service to- and from nearby ski lifts. There is a good bar with fireplace. Recommended!

Amazing place with wonderful people and atmosphere feel like a home , was the personal touch in every detail. From the handcrafted artwork adorning the walls to the homemade treats that greeted guests in their rooms, it was evident that the owners had put their heart and soul into creating a warm and welcoming environment.
