The Pension Hinterseer is styled in the '60s and '70s with classy look elements (photographs, trophies) relating to the glory years of the talented and well-known Olympic medallist Ernst Hinterseer. The overall design fits in perfectly and conveys the best atmosphere of those years. The rooms are beautifully simple and elegant, each with a balcony reflecting the beautiful views over Kitzbuhel and surrounding peaks, the beds very comfortable and the bathrooms relatively spacious. Excellent breakfasts, accompanied by the red cat (Flokie) made each day start wonderfully. Our host was Kerstin, whose friendliness, openness and willingness to help guests with their everyday things (e.g. recommend good restaurants or which mountain trails are worth hiking) makes it with a heavy heart to leave this wonderful place.

It was a pleasure to talk during every breakfast with the very hospitable and informed host. Ski-in & ski-out, using slope 22 and the field behind the guesthouse. Large room and bathroom. Good value for money.

What an amazing place! My adult son and I flew in from London for a few nights of skiing and had a wonderful time. The huts are clean, warm and tidy, the food is super hearty and the view of the villages twinkling below in the valley after nightfall is breathtaking. In the morning, you wake up, eat a hearty breakfast, strap on your skis and you are already at the top of the Gondola with the legendary Streif piste at your door. Easy to get to for a short trip as well, as the gondola is right across the street from the train station, with regular service to Innsbruck in just over an hour. We will be back soon!
