The location was a nice old and well-maintained country estate, with comfortable rooms with thick stone walls and it felt cozy and warm like a castle. The breakfast was a nice buffet spread with European-style and American-style foods (hot and cold foods). You definitely need a car to get here, but there was easy parking and some grounds to walk around and explore. In summer I think it would have been even more beautiful.

This is an amazingly beautiful hill-top estate, fully restored with attention to details - and with a panorama from the swimming pool which was breath taking The owners are super friendly and were incredibly helpful in finding good restaurants and also organized for us go to an amazing balsamico and wine tasting. The location is off the tourist track - we were often the only foreigners in the restaurants; we got great value for money and a taste of the real Italy. Another benefit from the location is that this part of Italy is known for its wonderful food and our whole family enjoyed it the local cuisines. The landscape is just gorgeous and competes with the best Italy has too offer. Natural parks all around. It is a scenic drive to places like Bologna, Modena, the Ferrari factories.
