For travellers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country-living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts may offer interactive kid-friendly activities or, for couples, a cosy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is often included — you may be collecting the eggs yourself!
Beautiful location overlooking the valley. I love walking, and there are major walkways on the doorstep. The hosts were fantastic and recommended places to go. The Farmers Boy pub at the bottom of the valley served great food. I would love to go back there again. I really re-charged my batteries and felt more relaxed for sure
Where else could you stay where you have your own self serving Bar, dining room and games room. Set in the heart of the farm riding centre with beautiful countryside views.
All in all, relaxing 4 day break in a beautiful setting. The farm is in a quiet countryside hamlet,
with stunning views and plentiful woodland walks. The Shepherds Hut was clean and thoughtfully decorated. The owners are welcoming and helpful, knowledgeable yet never intrusive. There are several lovely gastropubs within a mile or so, catering for all tastes and price-ranges. Easy access to the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, South Wales and Gloucestershire. We'll be going back very soon!!!
The location was amazing, the views were stunning.
Our Shepherds hut was very cosy.
The facilities on site were clean and well maintained. The communal area was outstanding, everything within easy reach and we were made to feel at home throughout our stay.
the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful and pointed us in the direction of some great places to eat, drink and explore.
I would highly recommend a visit to Mayhill farm and we would definitely return.
The cottage was very spacious and comfortable, extremely well equipped with everything you could need. It was spotlessly clean and had a lovely homely feel. Fiona was a very kind and welcoming host, she left us a full cream tea to enjoy when we arrived! Beautiful rural location with stunning views, we enjoyed a lovely walk up to the farm and round the village.
