Set in Dar es Salaam, less than 1 km from Coco Beach, Hotel Totara offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a garden. We liked everything: The old and tasteful architecture, the garden, the friendly staff, nice rooms, location. Breakfast was perfect, lots of choice and lots of fresh products. Transportation from and to the airport worked well. The staff helped us to get Bolts in town too. Several nice restaurants in the vicinity, perfect location away from the quite ugly down-town Dar. We also walked to the Tingatinga co-operative and ran in the neighbourhood. Very good value for money! We will recommend to everybody and would certainly stay again.

Having 1.6 L of water in the room everyday was awesome. The room (loft) was spacious. They go all out to help. Getrude is great and the restaurant staff are all amazing

The staff was very welcoming, always greeted us with a beautiful smile. The apartment was spacious, clean, with strong internet service. Everything was amazing!

Q-Bar & Guesthouse, a property with a bar, is situated in Dar es Salaam, 1.9 km from Msasani Beach, 12 km from Tanzania National Stadium, as well as 17 km from Kunduchi Water Park. I can't recommend this place enough. I stayed 10 nights, was looking for something comfortable and good quality price and this place exceed all my expectations. You won't find ultra luxury here, but it's a very cozy and welcoming home with everything you need. Definitely worth paying the little extra and get the room upgrade if you're staying for some time. The room is huge, with beautiful traditional wood furniture, a comfortable bed, lots of pillows, a wardrobe, and desk. A lot of light and super clean. Bathroom has hot water and good pressure shower and is cleaned every day. The breakfast is delicious with fresh fruits and pressed juice. The bar downstairs is lively with good live music and pool tables. The hotel stays in the perfect location to access a lot of attraction points, 15min from city center, 5min from coco Beach, close to a lot of bars and restaurants. You also have all services walking distance (ATM, multiple restaurants, several bars, many pharmacies, supermarkets, souvenir shops, etc). The location is safe and Q-bar staff makes sure you are always helped when you need, they inclusively escorted me to the supermarket the first day I arrived, and opened the kitchen to give me rice at 2am when my phone got water. From a person that did A LOT of research and likes a good value for money, I REALLY recommend you choose this place. I had my best stay in Dar and will definitely come back!
