Hotel La Cierva de San Marcos is a small hotel located about a 6-minute walk from the Centro Historico. The location is quiet and there are plenty of food options in short walking distance. The owner is extremely nice and even greeted us by name when we first arrived. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and the shower is great. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing location with a wonderful rooftop deck and great views. The breakfast was incredible and made fresh. The staff were also so helpful and attentive to every need.

Located in Quito and with Bolivar Theatre reachable within 800 metres, Hotel Casa Alquimia provides concierge services, allergy-free rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. Staff were excellent, very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay, including letting us use kitchen facilities to store and heat up food on a public holiday when many businesses were closed. The property is lovely and we appreciated the thoughtful provision of filtered water.

Casa Hotel Las Plazas is set in Quito, 100 metres from Sucre Theatre and 300 metres from Colonial Art Museum. Rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV. This charming boutique hotel is operated by a very warm and welcoming family who communicated in English as well as Spanish. All staff and family members were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts were great, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is well located, in the heart of the old town.

Casa El Edén is located in Quito’s Historical Centre and is housed in a Colonial-style building. Free Wi-Fi access is available and organic breakfast is included with the rate. Set in a colonial style house built in 1738, La Casona de la Ronda Hotel Boutique Patrimonial offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and plasma Tv in Quito’s historic centre. Breakfast is provided. Exquisite setting inside the hotel, great staff, great location and lovely restaurant en site.

The 5-star Plaza Grande is on Plaza de la Independencia, Quito´s central square. A top location that I would strongly recommend for any visit to Quito. As the name will tell, the Plaza Grande Hotel is right on the Plaza Grande, that is a stunning masterpiece at the very heart of the UNESCO Heritage site Quito Central area. I chose this hotel primarily for its location, as I wanted to be right at the main historical and artistic hotspot of town, instead of choosing an anonymous, international-chain structure in the newer part of Quito -- and I did it right. I found an excellent hotel, hosted in an historical and perfectly restored building, with incredible rooms (actually suites), all equipped with jacuzzi and (most of them) with a jaw-dropping view on the square (Plaza Grande). Regardless of what you may read, that particular area of the center, between Plaza Grande, San Francisco, Santo Domingo squares and La Ronda, is extremely safe also in the evening, including late evening: I had a long stroll between 9 and 11 PM, all alone, and it was all very quiet, felt (and was) very safe, on streets and squares surrounded by stunning historical buildings, in perfect conservation status, with smart lighting solutions that gave a fantastically well-lit effect. Ask for a suite with view of the square: if they have it available, they will be happy to give you one (I did, and was given one). Staff incredibly and genuinely helpful, proactive and always at disposal.

Attractively located in the centre of Quito, Illa Experience Hotel features air-conditioned rooms, a fitness centre, free WiFi and a garden. There are no words to describe the wonderful staff, the beautiful hotel surroundings, or the lovely accommodations that are all part of the Illa Experience. To a person, all the staff made sure to make our stay a memorable one. We sampled great wines with the help of sommmalier, Francisco. We attended special events in the lobby each night presented by the staff. We had one of the most amazing and memorable dinners with chef, Juan Carlos at the helm. One of us was ill and the staff did everything they could to help us including making special chicken soup and checking on us regularly. We had a very early flight to the Galapagos and came downstairs to find coffee, tea, and a sack lunch waiting for us. We hope this review encourages others to stay at the Illa Experience. They will not be disappointed. We think of and miss the staff to this day.
