This hotel opposite Essen Central Station offers, Wi-Fi.. The pedestrian area starts outside the hotel. The Select Hotel Handelshof Essen has modern, air-conditioned rooms with high ceilings. Staff was very helpful when our initial room had a defective thermostat. We were relocated to another room and everything was fine.

Ideally situated beside the pedestrian zone and main railway station in Essen, this traditional 4-star hotel is a direct underground ride from the exhibition grounds and the Grugapark complex. I had a wonderful stay in a spacious and clean room that was beautifully designed. The thoughtful welcome gifts were a nice touch, and a well-lit bathroom with a modern shower was great. I particularly enjoyed the hotel's unique architecture and opted to use the stairs, which reminded me of a castle.

The room was spacious with a small conference table. Double bed with extra Sofa, so it could be used for 3 people. The bathroom with tub and shower and a heated lighted toilet, wow. Small fridge, hot water kettle and Nespresso coffee maker. Two bottles of excellent wine were available at cost.
