The eco-friendly, family-run Das Grüne Hotel zur Post - 100 % BIO enjoys a quiet location in the Maxglan district, a 5-minute bus ride from the center of Salzburg. The hotel sent a very detailed and helpful email prior to arrival with tips on transportation and other useful info. The room was nice and parking was free and convenient. We purchased bus tickets from the desk and went to the Salzburg Christmas Market and Mozart's birth home. We really loved how beautiful the city was. I highly recommend the Salzburg salt mine tour (a short drive away) and Ristorante Roma Italian (just down the street). The staff was very pleasant.

The Astoria is a 3-star hotel just a 15-minute walk from the Old Town of Salzburg with the Festspielhaus (Festival Hall) and Mozart's birthplace. Room was ready early and super clean. Staff was extremely nice. Breakfast had a good variety.
