Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

The amount of construction around the scenic areas is shocking. I never expected Monument Valley to be in the middle of housing. It was a very sad thing to see. I guess it's the smell of money that changed Monument Valley into a kind of Disneyland. Based on what I saw, I would not make a detour.

Monument Valley is to be experienced!
Monument Valley is to be experienced! We both drove it ourselves and took a tour. I would highly recommend MV Dineh Rebekah (SP?) Cultural Tour which took us behind public areas and we had the attention of a Dineh Guide. It was magical.

-In an amazing location next to Monument Valley. We loved watching the sunrise from our balcony, as well as looking out on the view
-Really lovely and helpful staff
-Clean and comfy with local amenities such as lots of complimentary parking, a huge supermarket, laundrette and pool
-We got picked up for our Monument Valley tour in the courtyard, which saved us driving to the visitor centre
It's near (actually in) Monument Valley, so nearby of the scenic views. We stayed in a chalet, not the main hotel buidling. The kitchen was okay, beds were okay. It was quiet although the unit was one of a countless number of units on the slope. There are shops and a gas station. The sunrise behind Monument Valley was really something despite all the buildings in the way.
Monument Valley is very secluded. With that being said, having a hotel like this with a restaurant attached is very convenient. We stayed for one night and requested the lower level building so our views of the valley were impacted by the hotel. It was a great choice.
The restaurant is good, too!
Alcohol is not sold or available on the reservation, FYI.
Great location, easy to explore everything that Monument Valley has to offer. It was our second stay and we highly recommend it. The hotel has restaurant, general store, and pool. Everything is clean inside the cottage. All modern and in working condition. Comfortable beds, a/c works perfectly. Nice cozy patio with amazing views. Very comfortable stay.
Very nice room with an amazing view to the Monument Valley. You can dine & breakfast at the hotel's restaurant and the food is very tasty. Everybody is very polite and for sure we appreciated the overall vibe of the location.
Tips: they don't serve alcool at the restaurant.
We liked our cabin a lot. It was super clean, spacious and comfortable, with necessary amenities. The view from the front of the cabin was beautiful.
The surroundings were quiet and homey. The restaurant is the only reasonable place near monument valley to get food.
The room was well appointed and very clean. The view from the verandah of our unit was amazing. The hotel was very close to the entrance to Monument Valley and had easy access to fuel, groceries, restaurant and laundromat facilities.
The view from the room was stunning especially at sunrise and the hotel facilities were great for such a small place. We especially loved being able to watch a John Wayne monument valley movie in the cinema.
The view is outstanding and the room is huge and extra comfortable, it comes with a balcony where you can view the Monument Valley perfectly. You can even see the sunrise without moving from your bed
The views of Monument Valley are incredible! The setting, among glorious cliffs is pretty darn good as well. First hotel I’ve been to in years that still has its own stationary!
View from bed of monument valley can't be beat. Great pizza from gas station store. The larger store 2 mins away had a surprisingly good range of food supplies.
