We have stayed at the Carpinteria Best Western occasionally since it opened 20 or more years ago. We actually use it as the place to stay as a convenient location to stay while doing things in Santa Barbara. Not everyone would consider it that convenient but it is 20 minutes away and far from the congestion of SB.
Featuring an outdoor pool, Motel 6 Santa Barbara - Carpinteria North is less 1.9 mi from the beach and 8.7 mi from Santa Barbara Zoo. All rooms include a 32-inch flat-screen TV with extended channels....

The only positive was the availability of rooms when no other hotels in the area had any.

Polite and friendly staff, close to main road, great breakfast recommended by the staff at a close by restaurant. Felt safe even for female travelers.

When I visit my daughter and grandson in Santa Barbara, I like to have my privacy so I stay here. The dog and i can walk to the beach boardwalk in 20 minutes. There's the tasty burger shack where we share! There are bathrooms. On the way to the beach you will find restaurants and shops. The old doggie is in a nice-sized stroller, so we can bring back goodies.
Right next door to the Motel 6 on Carpenteria Street is a grocery store, dollar-type store, and Goodwill too!
Have fun!

We have stayed for years on Thanksgiving.
We have stayed for years on Thanksgiving. We love the hotel, but this year I asked for a disabled room and although the shower tub was much lower my husband still had a hard time. We needed a roll in shower.

Like I said in the past I love carpenteria Carpenter is great only thing I can't stand about motel 6 over here south, they allow the sheriffs to just drive up in the parking lot and that's against the constitutional rights of the hotel and it's guests (Private Property).. sheriff should not be on the property unless called not driving through the lot looking at people's cars and stuff that's that's against the constitutional rights.. but other than that the carpenter with South motel 6 is my store that's why I like to go, should have more American maids and all that I understand the Mexican thing and all but a lot of them don't understand English man tell me I should I should understand Spanish no no this is America you should understand English 99% of the guests understand English...

A good suburb of Santa Barbara with good restaurants, beach and grocery shops. A 10-15 minute drive on motorway to Santa Barbara where there is good parking options in the back streets - mostly 90 mins. We managed free parking all day by moving to different areas for our site seeing. Cost if accommodation better value than Santa Barbara but you will need to drive that is the compromise. We ate at the Italian and the Thai restaurant, both were excellent.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Carpenteria! Beautiful little beach town.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Carpenteria! Beautiful little beach town. Good restaurants. Perfect beach and places to walk/hike. We could walk everywhere (beach, restaurants, stores) in town. The fact it’s a short drive to Santa Barbara and Ventura is a bonus. Did not want to leave at all. As a family we agreed we want to make it an annual trip. Carpenteria was exactly what we needed.
I stay 4 days at the hotel. Bed sheets were not changed by the cleaning crews during my stay. We requested the room to be clean and have the bed sheets changed on Sat. They did not clean the room as requested. Trash was not thrown out, etc. Night front desk staff was just a young punk who does not know how to handle customer complaint and inquiry. He was very ignorant.
Here is what we liked about the place: Great location, close to everything in Carpinteria. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice decor on the outside of the motel with outdoor tables and chairs. Good sized mini-fridge and microwave. Decent selection of TV channels. The beds weren't too uncomfortable, but ours was a bit noisy.
Excellent location, close to Santa Barbara. We visited the local beach hich was a 10 minute
walk away and were able to see the seals.
We loved this hotel , it was family friendly, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi. Great breakfast which was included in the price.
Staff was very courteous upon check In and check out. The entire hotel is squeaky clean. Even though it is near the freeway, traffic noise never interfered with our sleep. The interior courtyard is a lush, unexpected oasis.
The cost of a hotel, but definitely the quality of a Motel. All a bit tired and dated. Not terrible, and nothing to complain about (other than the high price), but nothing remarkable. Average in every sense
The restaurant at the hotel is superlative. The pool is nice, always clean and the water temperature is perfect. The view is the Pacific ocean - cant get a better view in the world in my opinion.
proximity to beach and restaurants
nice enclosed back deck
easy to find
kitchen seemed well stocked although we didn’t do any cooking
owner very quick to respond
pet friendly
It was a good dissent hotel. I’m glad we stayed there for one night because it made the trip to Bay Area much easier for the driver and allowed us to see Santa Barbara.
It was easy and no fuss. Close to the center of Carpinteria and shops.
Loved the 2 double beds! My mom and I had all the space we needed to sleep off our jet-lag.
