Coffee was acceptable but only just. Staff were attentive and helpful. Interested guests can view license plates from very many states and provinces. One vehicle had European license plates. On the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, I saw two black bears in a single hour. The electric vehicle chargers were convenient and gratis. No dryer was present, but there were two washing machines ($3.50 per large load, coins at front desk). We stayed 5 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious.

Black Mountain is a beautiful small town with lots of small stores, restaurants and eateries, gorgeous hiking trails for all levels of fitness - we loved it.
Taco Billy's serves yummy breakfast tacos, with vegetarian options. The Veranda serves delicious sandwiches, My Father's Pizza makes great Pizzas. I didn't enjoy the food at "Trailhead" (I had the trout filet. the fish was tasty and fresh, everything else served with it was "meh").

A beautiful, quaint, artsy little town with a super little downtown area to wander and explore. Great restaurants and gift shops. If you're not used to driving on treacherous mountain roads just take it slow and easy, and enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Go into town, park the car and let your feet wander around to all there is to offer. My husband's only disappointment was that we didn't see any bears, lol!

Our stay here was wonderful.
Our stay here was wonderful. The hotel was clean everywhere and beautifully furnished. The view from our room was spectacular. The bed was comfortable with different thicknesses of pillows ( Me- puffy, my husband- not as fluffy) The shampoo and conditioner were very nice. I liked everything about our stay. Only one small thing, the hot water pot tasted like coffee.

A fabulous little town and a great place to get some head space. Lots of art and craft shops, plenty of places to eat. However, if you are looking for something simple, I struggled to find such. Lots of places of interest in or around the area. It is all very clean, no litter, and the locals clearly take a good deal of pride in their town. Everybody seemed very friendly, nobody was trying to hurry you. Crossing the roads can sometimes be a bit of a gamble, so keep your wits about you. I would recommend taking a walk to the nearby Tomahawk Lake. The houses on the roads leading to it are magnificent, as are those surrounding the lake itself.

I won’t be back. No longer a lovely mountain town.
I won’t be back. No longer a lovely mountain town. Now an artsy tourist trap. If you would enjoy traffic congestion, 30 art galleries, overpriced food and VERY pleasant people then this is the place for you.
The open layout was great, with lots of space for different activities as well as dining and seating areas where we could all be together. Good quality appliances and materials were used throughout, and we had nice pots, pans, and dishes to use. It had thoughtful interior design that looked like the photos, and was well-maintained. Black Mountain is a charming small town, lots of unique shops and restaurants, and easy driving distance to Asheville, hiking, the Biltmore, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Everything was very clean and pleasant. Quiet and peaceful bedroom, comfortable bed and linens, nicely appointed. The owner clearly tries to keep everything at its best. The enclosed porch tablecloth dining area was bright and inviting. Doug (the owner) was graciously accommodating when we were late making dinner reservations... assuring we got a table at the last seating. Breakfast was a better than average buffet. Thank you Doug!
Check in was quick and efficient. Staff happy to engage if you want a small conversation. Staff very pleasant. Room clean and tidy. Hotel is located at one end of Black Mountain, but within easy walking distance. Bed was comfortable. Tub was of a size that you could soak (important to us Brits!) Dollar General nearby for things you may have forgotten. Microwave and fridge all working. In the main, quiet, not paper thin walls.
I was visiting the area on my motorcycle and had to get a room while I repaired the bike. My last minute same day booking was handled very easily and I was welcomed as soon as I arrived. Absolutely great location, easy access to highway 9 or the interstate and downtown. Clean, cozy facility with kind staff and quiet guests.
The location was perfect for our visit to Asheville, Black Mountain and the surrounding area. Location is convenient to restaurants, shopping and local attractions. Very quiet neighborhood assures a good night's sleep and peaceful moments enjoying the front porch.
The rooms were comfortable and clean and very modern. Wonderful breakfast with fresh fruit every morning. Loved the fact we were able to walk into town. All staff were very friendly and kept the hotel running like clockwork. Views from room were amazing.
Clean!!! I loved the spacious bathroom and closet. The coat hooks was a wonderful yet needed item. Very open and airy. The staff was kind and friendly. Enjoyed the stay. I will definitely keep this hotel on my list of favorites.
Inn Keeper's tradition in saying grace over the breakfast meal and the start of the day; Outstanding breakfast; great warm, friendly staff; Outstanding dinner; Location, within walking distance of historic Black Mountain
The area was wonderful with lots of homelike aesthetics, the hotel was an antique and very special! A lot of old architecture you could see in the hotel which made it better. The room was very nice indeed.
There was no breakfast. The location, while up some winding roads, was actually not bad. The town of Black Mountain is convenient & has groceries, gas, a couple of restaurants & some cute shopping places.
Everything about this place was outstanding and I highly recommend it to visitors to Black Mountain. I will be returning to Black Mountain and will try to book this again. Thanks.
Comfortable, clean, friendly! This is our family go to hotel whenever we visit black mountain! Walkable to town and central to all things Black Mountain!
