The bungalow i booked is beautiful, very spacious with interesting round layout, unique roof/ceiling. There is a small private deck outside surrounded with lots of greenery. Private bathroom. Bright and cozy interior.
Very conveniently the kitchen is open all day long and the food is delicious. Hosts are super friendly.
Restaurant, pool and chilling area is facing the ocean and the most amazing sunset/s. You can access the ocean going down the steps. Otherwise you can enjoy the amazing view onto the ocean and fishermen passing by on local sailing boats from above. Thats magical. Boat to Pungume ( Safari Blue) takes less time to reach sand bank so its a good spot to start the trip. Massage with Frida was a top notch.
Thank you all for wonderful stay! We will be back.

Most relaxing place I know on the planet. Locally built, owned an run lodge in a not very developed part of Zansibar. Not for people who wants parties and beach life, but if you're after beautifull surrondings, friendly environment and comfy, relaxing days this place is highly recommended. Food selection is a little limited, room standard is not european, and its about as remote as you get on Zansibar, but none of this matters to me.
Aya Beach Resort features free bikes, outdoor swimming pool, a garden and shared lounge in Kizimkazi. With a terrace, the property also has a restaurant, as well as a bar.

On the way back from our boat tour we sailed down the coast while our guide pointed out all the hotels. I can honestly say that, from the boat vantage point, there wasn't another one that I'd prefer to be at. Several were far more swanky, but Aya Beach Resort has a good combination of low-key accommodation, and a nice location overlooking a wonderful beach, which also acts as the hub of the local community. The hotel is quite ragged around the edges, which wouldn't suit everyone. The accommodation is fairly rudimentary, but the bed is comfy, there's a sitting area, a patio and AC (essential here). The shower-room is basic but adequate. The restaurant serves excellent food, but a limited menu, so after six days it's hard to avoid repeats. The atmosphere is relaxed. Around the hotel there is very little to do, which is great for a few days, but beyond six I think I'd want something more. The hotel purports to be 4-star, but this wouldn't bear comparison if we were in Europe. However, despite some expected developing world shortcomings, overall we feel incredibly fortunate to have stumbled on this little gem. Not perfect, but jolly nice.

We stayed one night at Salida Beach. It is located a bit outside of the centre of Kizimkazi. By scooter, it takes you around 5 minutes to get to the main road and the main beach. The room was perfect. Every room has a little balcony or a terrace. It was superclean, the waterpressure was strong, and there was even a mini-fridge in the room. The ventilator is very fast and in gerneall the room was very well temperatured, no AC necessary at all. The wifi was stable and fast. The place has a generator, so there are no problems with powercuts. The area of Salida Beach is quite big, with a lot of trees which keep the place cool. There are some sunbeds directly at the coastline on the small cliff over the water, where you can watch the sunset or just relax. There is also a hammock. There is no sand beach, but stairs lead you down to the ocean if you want to swim, which I highly recommend, especially if it is high tide. The breakfast is out of this world. Everyone gets a big plate of fruits, then the eggs as you want them with guacamole and bread and 2 pancakes. For drinks, they had coffee, tea, and a very very good juice. There is the opportunity to have dinner at Salida Beach as well, but we did not try that. The staff was super friendly, they welcomed us, showed us the place, and were helpful with all our questions. We will definitely come again😁

This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute.
Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again!
PS. A big thanks to Cliffton for recommending us Malaika, We enjoyed it to the fullest ;-)

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways.
There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching.
There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price.
Hardly any touting which is nice;
3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Place was very clean, food was nice and staff were very friendly, always available to assist
They also organized transport for us to travel around
Pete(Rasta man) was very friendly and he gave me some plants to bring to South Africa, I have them in my garden now
Morning shower was terrible, water was always cold and it seemed like their geyser or boiler was faulty
Shani is a wonderful host. A one in a million combination of super relaxed and incredibly attentive. She made our stay SO easy and helped us with literally everything we needed. The property is lovely but I cannot stress enough how great she made our stay and she knows lots of people nearby who can help make your stay here incredible whether it’s food, transport, places to go, recommendations or logistics she is a fountain of knowledge and her and her staff team made our time in Kizimkazi awesome!
the staff is very very cool and friendly, you feel at home😃
the owners are super chilled, its always a pleasure to sit and talk to them about everything and nothing
they ll also give you nice tips for Kizimkazi ✌️
the place is lovely a also colourful at night, its pretty nice

the food is great too, go for the tuna wrap and chocolate mousse with the passion sauce
breakfast is also great and filling with the fruits, juice, crêpe and chapati
Loved it!
Far from the madding crowd, peace and tranquility with amazing sunsets.
I liked round bungalows that resembles traditional african house. I haven’t seen anything like that around Zanzibar. Nice space with private bathroom and balcony. Neat and Clean. Very cool owners. Inspiring. Very kind staff. I have finally slept well and forgot about the whole world. Lala Land is indeed a good place to dream. Thank you guys for a beautiful time! Will be back!
The staff and manager were incredibly helpful, nice and tried their hardest to make us feel welcome. Restaurant has a pretty decent selection of multiple cuisines and everything is tasty, especially their cake!
The hotel is located on first line with direct exit to beach. Perfect for watching sunset with a nice cocktail!
We had a special reason for our trip, and they went on extra lengths to make our stay special. Definitely would stay here again!
Everything was perfect. It’s exactly what we were looking for, so clean and relaxing. The location was excellent, directly on the beach and peaceful.
Subery and Olivia couldn’t do enough for you and have built a small little paradise, made us feel so welcome and at home from the moment we arrived. Staff are wonderfully friendly, and to top it off the food is simply the best I have had on the island, so fresh and home cooked.
Highly recommend
Very nice and calm place to stay. Salida Beach is located in a quiet corner of Kizimkazi, you can walk easily to the village if you need something. Tasty and fresh breakfast and also good food if you want to eat in the hotel restaurant. From the property you can go down directly to the ocean and during the low tide walk by the beach.
People working there are very friendly and helpful. Thanks for nice service :)
I fully recommend.
The property is in a beautiful, the interior of the hotel is stunning. I stayed in both the swim up and jacuzzi room. Both are beautiful. Staff were able to help with issues I had with the swim up room ( it faces the gym not giving a lot of privacy but I was placed in a different room once requested. Some of the staff are very nice and friendly , there’s lot of good people trying their best to make everyone’s stay comfortable.
Amazing staff great location and lot of activities to be done at the hotel. Beautiful property as well. Easy access to private beach and great sunset view . It was our anniversary and they organised romantic dinner around the beach which was extraordinary. Food is amazing even for vegetarian or vegan. They have turtle nursery and Masai village experience for free, so don’t have to pay to experience it outside.
The Hotel itself is really beautiful, a tiny place but we really loved it. The Beach is not as long as at the North side for example but still possible for a short walk and the water is clear. And the hotel is perfectly locatated for an amazing sunset. We really enjoyed watching it every single day. The Breakfast and Dinner was very tasty. We really liked and they also had several options.
Best part of staying at kizikula was their service. The chef personally talked to us and accommodate our custom preferences for vegetarian meals. They served the food at the choice of place rooms, hammock, beach , pool
The room design is modern and chic with a fully functional Air conditioner (Most properties doesn't seem to have working Air conditioner in Zanzibar)
Aya Beach resort is absolutely amazing! We stayed in early October and the resort was almost empty, so it was such a nice and relaxing place. The views are amazing, so many places to relax, morning and evening yoga classes, great breakfast and reasonable prices of food at the restaurant.
The room had a nice size, AC, and a fridge. We enjoyed our stay a lot!
I loved the facility, good decoration and layout! Lovely and well trained staff
They clean your room twice per day, you are not bothered and you can leave your life as you please
The room had a pool shared with the other 5 rooms and it was nice to dive far from the crowd.
The hotel has sun all day, kart service, amenities are new
beautiful place with a homely atmosphere, run by a great multicultural family with good taste and respect :)..kind of at the end of the world :) but it was exactly what we needed at the end of our trip. If we ever have a chance to get in Kizimkazi again, this place will definitely be our choice! Thank you guys! Dzieki za vszystko!!:)
a boutique hotel away from the crowds. They farm most of the food served to the guests following sustainable agriculture practices, and the guests can visit their field, farms and gardens. The romms are designed by a famous architect and the overall setting is just very charming. A lovely place, also graced by a very friendly staff
