We had in-room onsen, which was amazing. The public onsen was also good. Dinner in a private room for our party was delicious. The town is very convenient to the mountains and the rest of the Unzen part of the national park.

Nice place to hike. Plenty of greenery even in December. Not so pleasant if it rains. Hiking nearer the ridge may not be suitable to those who are not so fit as it can get quite steep. Using the ropeway could ease the trip a bit for those who have some health challenges.

Suitable place for relaxation and hot springs, The accessibility is not so convenient unless you travel by car. The hot-spring-village is just lovely small so it’s better to combine with other nearby sightseeing places.

The room was comfortable, I was able to enjoy the hot spring at my leisure and the staff were very accommodating. They play background music in the hallway but it was loud enough to hear in my room when I wanted to sleep. When I asked if they could turn it off, they did, without any problems. It was a very comfortable, quiet night’s sleep. Dinner and breakfast were also included in our reservation and I found it to be quite substantial.

We had breakfast twice and dinner once with the hotel, the food and presentation were absolutely amazing and definitely something I would recommend. The Onsen was very special, they have an outdoor and indoor option, both being very nice facilities. We booked a Japanese style rooms and Western style rooms and both were delightful. The staff were very helpful. Overall a wonderful experience.

The food buffet selections were very diverse and I appreciated the modifications to make it safer and to prevent the spread of Covid. I enjoyed the arcade area with ping pong tables and karaoke. I also enjoyed the rooftop onsen and I thought the bath temperature was perfect.
