Hotel Domus is set in Piazza Libertà, the main square of Maranello, home town of Ferrari and house of the Ferrari Gallery.

I was here with my oldest son to visit the GP F1 in Imola. But Hotel Domus is kind a special for us as family. For many years this hotel was our first night in our holidays to Italy. Every year we came at least one time, my kids grow up with this hotel.
Now you see the teeth of time are doing their job, and the hotel is no longer what it used to be. Newer hotels have been added that are the same in terms of price. If we didn't have the emotion to this hotel, I would definitely consider another hotel. My son and I both agreed that this was a nice last time and that we will try another hotel next time.

Like many reviewers mentioned, shortly after the booking we were notified that we should check-in in the Planet hotel, not Drake, so the review is about Planet hotel.
The hotel is very close (less than 10 minutes on foot) to Ferrari museum and just in front of the entrance of Ferrari facility; quite a big supermarket is also not far away.
Bathroom was equipped with disposable toothcare sets.
Very well (maybe even excessive) heating.
Cafe (with no dinner options) downstairs.
Balcony with tables and chairs (see photo attached).
Set directly in front of Ferrari's Wind Tunnel, Maranello Palace offers modern and elegant rooms, suites and apartments, just one kilometre from the city centre.

If you are passioned about Ferrari, there is a lot of activities you can do. Allways good to go back to Galleria Ferrari. Don't forget to eat a pizza (and mascarpone) in the pizzeria next to Hotel Domus.
Maranello is a place which I visit for more than 35 years, it goes from father to son ;-) This year we both visit the Formula 1 Grandprix in Imola and off course we had to stop in Maranello.
Compare it over the years all the activities around Maranello become more and more commercial, which is ok, but I am also happy to keep the Maranello from the past in mind.

Generally one reason why you visit Maranello and that is to experience the iconic world of Ferrari. Do the museum tour, do the factory tour and eat at Ristorante Cavallino, for those that understand, it becomes quite nostalgic, and at times emotional and you feel Enzo's passion.
Ristorante Cavallino - a fabulous experience and hard to imagine that so many iconic people met and had lunch there, truly special & memorable.

The theme of the hotel, so exited for the kids even adults.
The theme of the hotel, so exited for the kids even adults. Room was clean, more than enough supply of toiletries in the bathroom. Extra towels too. Staff was very nice and friendly. The only downside If you want to have dinner you have to have a car to drive around. The restaurant in the hotel was not exquisite cuisine…more like fast food. Still great place to stay.

We stayed 2 nts in Maranello. On arrival we went to Dinner at Drake and then our full day was spent at Ferrari Modena (classic exhibitions) and then back to Ferrari Maranello - factory compound bus tour followed by museum which was modern display and f1 area which we loved!
We eat at the Paddock restaurant- delicious food!
Next day we went to Lamborghini Museum 30min away. And travelled to venice - great road trip!

Maranello, as the saying goes is about "fast cars, slow life".
And that is exactly what you will find.... Ferrari is of course the major attraction, and if you are a fan, it is a 100% immersive experience.
We also came to dine at Massimo Botero's restaurant, Cavallino, situated at Ferrari - and it was simply awesome, exactly what we expected.
Talking of food - the brakfast at our B&B (Villa Esther) was simply superb.
And the DolceCrema Gelataria in the centre of the town, offers the best Gelato we tasted in a month long trip to Tuscany and Florence.
The town itself is small, mostly flat, and easily walkable.
We took a bus from Modena to Maranello - it is a short ride, but there are taxis operating too.

Maranello is not just about Ferrari, although they are the high profile local interest, with the factory, museum and other aspects of interest. It is a nice little town situated in a rural agricultural area of Italy, south of Modena. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to visit and the place has a nice atmosphere.
There was no air conditioning in our room even though it is listed on our reservation!!! In a fancy hotel during the heat of summer in Modena and no air conditioning???
The front desk fellow at check in and during our stay was most unhelpful. He told us to just open our windows, that there were "no mosquitos" so we didn't have to worry. That was a complete lie. Our room would fill with mosquitos if we opened the windows. Would not return here and will definitely not recommend it
Perfect little stay while visiting the Ferrari Museum. Very clean and quiete. Spacious main bedroom with a separate single bed in a cosy adjacent room for our son also furnished with wardrobe and table and chairs. All rooms and bathrooms had windows. Lei Rooms is located just outside Maranello away from noise and traffic which is what we were looking for. The centre is probably a 15 minutes stroll in the greenery of the Maranello hills.
Graziella was amazing. She made the perfect cappuccino and was so helpful. Since most of the staff was on vacation, she took charge and anticipated all of our needs and with always a warm smile on her face. The hotel was not only charming but it was so quiet because of the soundproof windows. The location was perfect since it was close to all of the Maranello attractions. We will definitely return!
Wonderful old countryside house, it seems to be caught in a 1950s time warp. Old original furniture and old details. Breakfast under the trees and a lovely, committed host, who is managing organic farm cultivations in the surroundings. Don't expect any luxury, it's 1950 and you should live as in those times, but I'm sure you'll love it as much as we did :)
Will be back again, definitely!
Breakfast was fine. The food was nice and had plenty of options. The location was absolutely excellent. I could easily walk to all of the nearby Ferrari attractions. I also liked having a balcony that overlooked the historic entrance gate to the Maranello Ferrari factory. Room was stocked with both regular and frizzy water which was excellent.
Enzo (aptly named) and his wife, owners were hands on operators of the hotel. Located a short 5min walk from Ferrari and the museum. Room / suite was spacious and clean. Room available on arrival. Breakfast in dining room was prep'd and served by Enzo and his wife providing a sense of family and welcomeness.
This is the very best place where you can stay in the Maranello. Maranello is a beating heart of the Valley of Motors and in the H5-5H Luxury Room you can feel the atmosphere. It is a friendly, warm and luxury place with a decent reminder of where you are. Pietro is amazing host. Grazie Mille!
Very good location - close to Ferrari Muzeum in Maranello.
Spacious room (3 persons), friendly staff
Perfect restaurant with perfect service and of course food, but not cheap :-)
Free parking oposite to the hotel/restaurant.
Beautiful property with an amazing restaurant and the hotel is close to the Maranello/Ferrari museum.
The staff were very helpful, especially providing gluten free items for breakfast and dinner.
Italy became European champion football, that evening.
It was a wonderful event and the hotel staff was very much involved in a positive way.
Dinner and breakfast were good as well.
The service was AMAZING, exceptional, very helpful since the moment you book it. Clean, comfortable, cozy, close to the main things in Maranello and the bus terminal.
The hotel is beautiful, really nice and clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Room has the perfect size and very clean and quiet. Highly recommmended.
They switched our hotel and called it an "upgrade to a suite in a 4 star hotel". In reality it was a downgrade to a hotel that shouldn't have those stars.
