We stayed in the Strathaven as a stop-off between the Scottish Highlands and Yorkshire on a very cold snowy night. The hotel was busy with a Christmas function and other diners but the welcome was attentive and very friendly. The room was warm and welcoming and a very good standard for staying with our dog. We had room service which was lovely and a great early breakfast. The staff were really chatty and helpful. A very good choice.

Certainly a worth while place to stay.

Certainly a worth while place to stay. However, the impersonal approach I felt was rather unwelcome for a B&B. If you wish to present yourself as a B&B, it is my assumption there is a personal approach and personal touch to it. Not in this case. I regard this as a missed opportunity.

Great for relaxing or as base for exploring. Beautiful countryside with plenty of local walks. Rural but not remote so great getaway location. A car or other means of transport recommended to get around.

Great value, lovely food, not pretentious. Well cooked.

Great value, lovely food, not pretentious. Well cooked. I could have done with a bit more toast with the liver parfait, but actually it was probably enough! Service was particularly worth an accolade. Very friendly.

    Taal Restaurant.

Taal Restaurant. We ate there two nights and the food was superb. A pleasant area to walk around. Exploring Strathaven further it’s a much pleasanter and interesting place than on arrival. Next visit we will explore a little further.

Bamflatt is conveniently located and easy to find, being midway between central England and northern Scotland for those travelling north (or south). The B&B is very clean and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are ample and of excellent quality. This is a very nice location in the countryside but within easy reach of cities and just off the M74. Nearby Strathaven has a few eateries, including the "Taal" Indian restaurant which we would recommend.

We couldn’t praise the staff, service and environment enough! We came here because our dear friend had died and the wake was at the hotel, and stayed 2 nights. My goodness they’re sensitive accommodating and kind. Not just to us but to all of our family in the small ways that really matter as well as big ways. I can’t thank you enough. Excellent service, and like being in a family home.

Great location based on our trip. Hotel staff attentive & welcoming. Restaurant, bar & outdoor areas modern & clean. Waiting staff mostly excellent with good menu choice. Wedding party added to a great atmosphere and added to our experience. Room was a single so ‘snug’ but perfectly acceptable. En-suite was well appointed & modern. Would recommend this hotel for the price & facilities.

Just cannot fault Bamflatt Farm Bed & Breakfast - usually if I travel on my own I get a small room, not here I was in large spacious room. Staff very welcoming and helpful and breakfast was exceptionally good. Now wouldn’t consider anywhere else to stay when up in Strathaven.

Open the doors on the lodge and the view is private, not overlooked and absolutely stunning over a valley with a river at the bottom. nice to support a small business rather than a big hotel chain…! set in 22 acres - just stunning.
