To be honest, we made Shrewsbury a stop off point as we travelled to Wales for a weeks cottage holiday. We stopped on the 'way down' and on the 'way back', to break up long journeys. However, from our two half days in Shrewsbury it looks like a place for longer stays. The museum and art gallery were very interesting. The shopping areas were very good, with a good mix of larger names (M&S, Sea Salt, White Stuff ...) and independents. There were many eating places, but obviously we weren't able to make use of all but two in the town, both of which were very good. Shrewsbury is a great town to visit which we do several times a year. Summer time is definitely worth a visit but we go all year round and always enjoy ourselves. Full of history, quirky hotels, bars and restaurants and great for shopping. Umai restaurant is outstanding for us food always delicious. A trip on the river boat highly recommended. The town is packed full of historic beautiful biuldings Riverside walk is an absolute must... Town centre to Castlefields especially. The Abbey, castle , and lots of one off shops. An absolute surprise - we spent all day just walking round Shrewsbury and being delighted by what we found - including the Market Hall which is something we don't see many of in the south of England.

Shrewsbury there is plenty of places to eat and drink resonable prices Plenty of shops easy to get around a bit hilly in parts for people with mobility issues. good walks along river bank and in parks plenty of space to wonder if you don't want the town.

Town centre location suited me for attending a concert nearby. The parking was a bit difficult to find, down narrow side streets, and cost an extra £10. The staff provided helpful printed instruction sheets on how to find it.From there it was a short walk up some steps to regain the hotel. The hotel is big and a bit anonymous: there was no food available before the concert, and nothing after; and I didn’t take breakfast.

Located in an industrial park its quiet in the evening so great for a good nights rest. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Breakfast is buffet style and good quality. Room was clean bed comfy bathroom good. Overall a good hotel to explore the area but would best be enjoyed if you have your own transport because of its remote location.

High standard of cleanliness, and a very comfortable, relaxing room. All staff were very courteous, and the greeting I had from hotel reception on arrival was heartwarming. If I had to be critical I would say hotel parking would seal the deal on this one. There is very cheap parking close-by however which can be used for long stay too.
