Location was perfect and easily accessible. It's in the town centre so accessing shops, bars, restaurants etc simple.
Lovely building, with some rooms separate from the main property.
Free parking at the rear was perfect but beware the entrance - it's tight!
Lots of places to see locally. The nearby multi lock canal and National Trust offerings are worth a visit.

The location suited us in transit and our one night stay was satisfactory with a dinner/breakfast package where the food was very good. We particularly commend the assistance of the manager helping us with heavy bags and the morning receptionist who was really helpful acquiring a taxi at a reasonable price and when we needed it.
The room was satisfactory though the lighting was dim, electrical points not really well positioned and the ancient wash basin plunger system failed.
But the stateliness of the building, the interesting art and displays and above all the positivity of the staff made it an interesting and memorable overnight stay
With picturesque gardens and a dining terrace, this charming 16th-century property is set in 1.5 acres of Wiltshire countryside. Free WiFi and free private parking are offered.

Melksham is a busy town whose main claim to fame is its close proximity to the historic abbey and village of Lacock and the short drive to the equally historic town of Bradford on Avon.
It is also a relatively short distance from the M4, making a perceived ideal location for a stopover for those heading to the southwest. However, upon reflection, it may be better to consider other locations, particularly if planning an extended stay.

Melksham is a good base for touring the local area but the town is a little run down with no real quality shops. Quite a lot of traffic passing through the high street but there is a Sainsburys and Waitrose in town so easy to get provisions. Two nice pubs Kings Head and Market Tavern serving good food plus there are Indian, Italian restaurants and various fast food outlets. Also a Wetherspoons pub we went in for a drink but would avoid if we went to Melksham again

Plenty of shops, even more hairdressers (we counted 16!) and a bank with free withdrawals. The Tourist Information Office was great and with plenty of information to hand.
Whilst the Kings Arms does have a restaurant, we thought it was a little pricey so we went exploring. There are plenty of takeaways inlcuing Thai, kebabs etc and a dine in / takeaway curry house. For us, the best place to eat was The Market Tavern, just a few yards away from the Hotel. Outstanding cuisine to suit all tastes, utterly fabulous service, a good range of Ales, Ciders and Gins and the food was served quickly.
Plenty of walks to do around the town but if you're after a good night life then you won't find much there.
Melksham has a Sainsbury's, Waitrose and "Pound" shops, Greggs etc.
Overall a beautiful town and worth the visit.

Melksham is a fairly quiet town, a few pubs in the town, great as a place to stay to explore Bath & other historic areas, I looked up the top 10 places to do here, number 1 was the swimming pool & the other 9 were churches!!!! Enough said…

Some nice buildings in typical stone.Shops limited, which is perhaps not surprising with pandemic etc. Has a Waitrose so plenty of parking .
Overall very quiet and not very interesting on a winter weekend!
Lots of interesting places nearby for tourism eg Lacock. Good as a stopover certainly or possibly as a base for the area..( we were not doing tourist stuff this trip!)
Can't really comment as a winter trip and did not eat outside the hotel.

Lovely small town, busy though with a small variety of shops and restaurants and pubs. Lovely riverside walk.
We ate two nights at the Hotel, once at Refa Tandoori, which we can recommend and once at An Italian restaurant in the town.
We recommend a visit to beautiful Castle Combe, a gem of a village. We found Bath very busy and difficult to park.
Sunrise Lodge and Everything was awesome - there was nothing needed. Fabulous location, Tea coffee and coffee pods supplied plus milk in fridge. Cleaning products and towels Nicola was kind welcoming and so very helpful with local pubs and taxis. The Lodge was spotlessly clean yet dog friendly - donkeys and goats grazing outside in paddocks. Ducks and chickens next door. Lovely children's play area ⭐❤️we are definitely going to return and the local pub The Brewery is a short walk with great food and hospitality too.
Well where do I start this hotel was absolutely amazing our room was so nice all clean and no issues was overwhelmed at the size and even more amazed to find a lovely corner bath in the bathroom with also a tv in there this made my weekend couldn’t stop telling everyone i seen the owners were brilliant nothing was too much trouble for them Andy and jus thank you sooo much for everything you were brilliant and we will definitely be coming back again xxx
A perfect family holiday home. We were meet by the very friendly host on arrival. The house was great, perfect for our family of 4 (2 young kids) The house is very cosy and finished to a great standard. located on a lovely farm just outside Melksham, and close to the canal. good size bedrooms, large kitchen with all needed. We would definitely stay here again, thank you.
This lovely hotel is a good away base to explore the area. You can take the public bus in front of the hotel to Bath centre. Good private parking, friendly staff, many choises for breakfast e.g. porridge and english breakfast. And there is always fresh milk available to drink a cup of tea in your room. The shower and the wifi are perfect!
The building itself is fantastic, the room was good and the pub was great with very well kept Butcombe ales. The staff were very nice and helpful and breakfast was very good - a good selection of options and high quality.
There was plenty of free parking and the hotel is very well situated in the town.
This place is by far the best place we’ve stayed in the Uk, and we’ve stayed in some nice hotels, it’s very welcoming and make yourself at home vibes, the pool is amazing, just the whole place is so beautiful, we will be returning 100%
Nice cottage on the outskirts of Melksham close to a couple of pubs. Co Op and garage at the top of the road. In easy walking distance of the town and bus/railway station.
A lovely couple who were very kind and knowledgable
Location and peace and quiet. Friendly and helpful host. Lovely touch with flowers and bowl of fruit.Lots of space in property with a well equipped kitchen. A great base for places like Bath, Avebury, Melksham and Devizes.
Fantastic location, quite and peaceful, lovely views, yet 5 minutes away is melksham town and also shot journeys to Bath and Lacock and surrounding villages. Feels like home from home.
Great location for attending a garden party in Melksham. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in early and leave our car in the car park prior to attend the party.
