It's an excellent location, for me, by the bridge over looking the river Waveney. There's a small car park to the side so you can park up and collect your keys from the owners, Alison and Graham, who are very helpful and know about all things 'Boaty'. Its also a lovely old building oozing character and the room has an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette area with a fridge stocked with enough food to make breakfast or evening snacks until you have sorted out where the nearest shops and eateries are.

Although very close to the main beach and promenade, the streets beyond that were dirty, there was a persistent smell of cannabis and some seriously dodgy people. I didn’t feel it was safe for my family and very run down. Accommodation was so shabby, broken door handles, peeling wallpaper and stained couch. It felt dirty. The worst aspect was the damp in the bedroom, it smelled really damp and even the bed sheets felt damp. There was water coming through the ceiling and no real ventilation for the shower adding to the problem. A member of staff accessed the apartment early in the morning while my son was sleeping and went into an electric cupboard unannounced.
