Great space, much bigger than it looked on the photos. Comfortable beds, good heating so lovely and warm, combi boiler for hot water. Secondary double glazing is excellent - it is on quite a busy road but we weren’t aware of any traffic noise. Really worked for our family group of five adults, only one bathroom but we were fine with that. Main bedroom is really big. Would definitely book again if we were in the area again. Parking for 2-3 cars, recommend reversing in as on a busy road.

Very friendly helpful staff and pleasant hotel in a very convenient location. Only quibble: the tiny piece of soap slithered through the wide apart bars of the holder in the shower so inevitably landed on the floor. But it was good to have proper soap rather than a pump! Excellent generous breakfast (included).
We stayed in Sprithill, which is just outside Calne.
We stayed in Sprithill, which is just outside Calne. We did not go to Calne beyond using the supermarket. The accommodation was used as a base to visit Bath, Cherhill, Avebury, Lacock and Bourton on the Water.

The Lansdown Strand was a great place to stay.
The Lansdown Strand was a great place to stay.
Friendly, cosy and relaxing, in the centre of town. The surrounding shops and structures were situated on a hill yet seemed very accessible.
No parking at the hotel and all side roads were double yellow lines or resident parking.
The car park was no more than a three minute walk from the hotel, no free parking as part of hotel. The centre was well lit and had seating areas by the library. I will visit again.

A small but interesting historic area if you step away from the A4 road. Good quality local museum. Worth an hour or two of your time if you like exploring country towns: just stay away from the major roads!

A somewhat rundown town with pleasant corners, rivers and water meadows. Sammy’s Kebabs are excellent fast food. It has most things you need in the centre. Its great advantage is its proximity to Avebury and the Marlborough and Pewsey Downs for walking.
Ellie is amazing hostess, making us feel welcome and like family. She made us bread from scratch, butter and Honey from her own bee’s. Breakfast was delicious, fresh and well presented. Ellie and Rex took the time to learn about us and our plans in town, the conversations felt like visiting old friends .
The rooms were very clean, warm and comfortable. The vibe and the harmony of the place was so good. So glad that we decided to take a friend recommendation on this places. Now we have more friends on beautiful Calne England!
The location is idyllic! The Loft is beautifully presented and so welcoming, Emma the owner can’t do enough to welcome you , the velum windows flood the loft with light yet at night when you pull the blinds it becomes so quiet and peaceful, the kitchen has everything one needs, the bedroom and bathroom are perfect for a few nights or few weeks stay! The property is isolated yet only a few minutes drive to a supermarket and great pubs!
We will definitely look to stay there in the future when in the Lynham area.
We loved everything about our stay! Ellie was very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. We had the kingsize room which was lovely, all very clean and the bathroom was modern and the shower amazing !!
Ellie cooked us a delicious full English for breakfast the next morning with lots of home made sourdough toast which was the best ! We would won't hesitate to book here again when visiting family in Calne and Corsham. Thank you so much for making our stay really great. xx
Upon ringing the bell I was met by Daisy. A friendly dog eager to meet and greet. Gwyneth the owner also appeared. It's a super little room ideal for my stays in Calne, I slept well and it's nice and quiet.
It's very close to town and the industrial estate where I work.
The porridge and toast for breakfast sets the day up very well.
So far I've stayed twice and booked in again for next week!
Good buffet breakfast - typical fry up - bacon, sausages, fried eggs, baked beans, black pudding, tomatoes, croquet potatoes, fried bread and toast. Sunday lunch carvery of beef, lamb, gammon and turkey very good and plentiful.
Location convenient if driving but too far out of Calne to walk to the centre. Plenty of parking.
Small but well fitted new bathroom.
Friendly main bar area.
Great central location in Calne, in walking distance to shops and town centre. Perfect for us to meet family nearby, and lots to do in this area of Wiltshire. The kitchen had everything we needed. Beautiful flowers on arrival and plenty to read and look up for the area. Could have stayed longer just to read the books and helpful information!
Our room was lovely. The bed was very comfortable. The towels were lovely and fluffy. Complimentary bottle of ale was a nice touch. Continental breakfast was absolutely fine. I know some people have left negative reviews but it's a listed building not a Premier Inn. We came for Calne bike meet, we will definitely stay again.
Emma host is very nice to contact and easy to access to property. Definitely we are comfortable look like my home family. The property you can walk to supermarket, shop, restaurants or surround the Calne. She decorated the property with lovely flower at the table too. Kitchen utensils for cooking are complete.
Lovely cooked breakfast
Generous portion
We stayed 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both nights.
My partner is vegetarian and possibly the menu slightly favours meat eaters.
On the first night I ate the burger which was great. The second night I chose a North African flavoured dish.
The area was quiet and the locals and staff where great. Went for a little run one morning some lovely routes. Food was really nice room where modern and clean. Highly recommend this hotel.
For anyone visiting Calne or the surrounding area, this is a great place to stay. The owner is really welcoming, the place is spotless and very comfortable and the breakfast is superb.
