Between Avignon and Orange, on the country roads of Provence fragrant with thyme and rosemary, you discover in the heart of the vineyards this beautiful ancient sheepfold from the 17th century.
The hotel is located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 10 km from Avignon and close to the beautiful towns of the Provence region. The old castle displays a Provencal decor and opens onto vineyards.

Nicolas was beyond accommodating and welcoming! he even made lemonade for us to drink as we reviewed the paperwork for our stay. he provided directions to local restaurants and contacts for wine tastings. he explained how to work the coffee maker and even had explicit directions on how to operate the washing machine. he was so proud of the house and the region and went to great lengths to tell us about the furniture and decor made from wine cases and corks. a consummate host and pristine accommodations!

The property is perfect for a family. Thank you to Nicolas and Emilie for their warm welcome. Nicolas and Emilie were amazing hosts. We could not have wished for more friendly and kind people. They took time to explain everything about the property and Nicolas was happy to answer all my questions about the wine in the area. We had a wonderful time and next time we will visit for longer.

The bungalow is spacious and surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden. The place comes with all amenities needed and is located at a walkable distance from the village. Ideal for a stay of several days. The owners went above and beyond to help us have a great stay (wine tasting, restaurant reservations etc). They also offer spa treatments across the street (we didn’t have time to sample those though).

Châteauneuf-du-Pape offer very little to visitors.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape offer very little to visitors. Few attractions, few restaurants and few shops. It does have several wine shops, but that is about it. Don't expect to find an interesting and exciting place like Saint-Emilion. If I return to the region, I will stay in Avignon.

Darling little town, with lots of opportunities to taste the wines of the area. Most tastings do not cost, but it seems appropriate to buy some wine at the establishments you visit.
We really enjoyed the staff at Vinadea, where we were able to ask questions and try wines from many producers.
We learned a lot and really enjoyed the wines at Ogier Winery. The staff was very informative, and the property is beautiful.
We did a drive through the vineyards and visited a few smaller estates/producers and enjoyed the overall passion everyone has for their wines.
This is a place for Rhone wine lovers!

We try to return yearly for the wine.
We try to return yearly for the wine. New restos now this year. We had a drink and a snack at La Part des Anges on the terrace like usual and were charged 5 euros for sitting at the table . No place inside to sit, kind of a mess ( chairs, tables, buggy) noted on the way to the WC. Lots of locals drinking their expressos. The owner also runs the bakery next door so we had great croissants/ coffee early the next morning, Great town for walks and mostly free tastings. Polite to buy a bottle.

The village is charming, retaining its historic ambience.
The village is charming, retaining its historic ambience. Not sure if there is a great deal to do there other than eat and visit the dozens of wine cellars that line the main street. Wine tasting is de rigueur and it is surprising how different are the various wines on offer, and the prices. The problem we experienced was with finding places to eat, as on the second night of our stay (a Thursday) most of them in the village were closed. However we had a really good meal at the Restaurant Le Pistou on our first night (but closed the following night due to a family bereavement), and can really recommend the Restaurant La Mere Germaine where we had a most enjoyable lunch. Finally, La Garbure offered an excellent set menu for 27 Euros each, excluding wine and coffee.

Chateauneuf du Pape is small and everything of interest is easily accessible by foot. There are great wines to try in the village and the surrounding area. The chateau is very impressive and the views over the Rhone valley and across to Mont Ventoux are super.

A slightly run down town in the centre of the famous eponymous wine-growing region. Quaint, and full of character. A tad disappointing that so few tasting rooms were open on a Thursday evening in mid June. The tasting room of Gonnet Pere et Fils was excellent.
Dinner at the very busy Le Pistou was authentic and local. The service was friendly and attentive.

The location is absolutely perfect and Brigitte is a phenomenal host. She offered great recommendations of restaurants and things to see and do, including wine tastings. This is the perfect place for a short stay in Chateuneuf du Pape. Free parking was nearby. As for finding La Pergola, our Google Maps GPS took us right to it if it were directly on the street, but it's actually behind the building that is directly on the street, so it is not visible from the street. It's off the plaza, directly behind Benedetti's.
We have stayed at La Sommellerie several times and have enjoyed every stay. The facilities are charming. The staff is friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and the gourmet dinners outstanding. There is a pool and a quiet terrace to sit and enjoy the morning and evening. it is located a short distance away from the Rhône where there is an excellent bike and walking trail. it is located about five minutes from Chateauneuf-du-pape and a short drive to Tavel, Seguret, Orange, and Avignon.
We enjoyed our stayed at Hostellerie du Chateau des Fines Roches.
Our stay started with a warm welcome by their General Director, Sébastien Gutierrez, who even helped us with our luggage. He was also very helpful with recommending places to visit, including the Wine Museum at Chateauneuf du Pape.
Our suite was spacious, well stocked and quite romantic!
The dinner at their restaurant was an
exceptional experience! A perfect meal, paired with wonderful wine from their vineyards.
This is a modest but very comfortable, well maintained and very agreeable apartment in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is situated just at the base of the stairs to the beautiful ruins of the Chateau, next to an ancient and beautiful church, and close to the finest restaurants in the village. The large windows facing east provided a charming view of the rooftops across the street and the spectacular countryside beyond. Our host was very agreeable, friendly and attentive.
The attention to detail at every turn. The helpful and friendly staff with their wonderful English. They went above and beyond with all requests and even brought a dog treat to our room for our little dog. We had dinner at their bistro which is just down the road which had beautiful food, wine and mojitos. We did not want to leave the terrace. Such a wonderful treat to stay in such a beautiful hotel.
It was a great location for visiting the wineries in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region! It in the heart of the town. Modern, large apartment on three floors. It had everything you would need. Easy to walk to the restaurants, grocery store, boulangerie, pharmacy, and tasting rooms in town. I would stay here again. It was easy to communicate with the owner about the stay.
The Hostellier was just what we was looking for in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We love everything in it, the chateau, our room, the view, pool, surrounding vineyards and the friendly staff, very friendly and nice stuff indeed.
Peacefull and lovely atmosphere.
Wine tasting, boutique, spa..
20 to 30 meters from parking to entrance.
Good breakfast.
We stayed one night in an apartment of Le Willow. The host was really kind and gave some recommendations for wine houses to visit. Because that is what you do in Châteauneuf-du-Pape! The apartment is very central, so you can easily walk from winehouse to winehouse. We had a great time here and definitely looking forward to our next visit!
fantastic setting in the countryside. The house is also attached to a 14th century structure. Calm and perfect also to relax here for a few days. Great rich breakfast included. There are no dinner plans (at restaurants are 3km away), but they have home made boxed meals that can be purchased and heated up (very good)! Highly recommend
The hosts are so lovely, they helped us with anything we needed and gave us lots of recommendations for the area! We stayed in the private room which had a balcony with an amazing view over the vineyards. Very spacious and comfortable room with private bathroom with a bath. Perfect location to walk into Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
A beautiful property in a convenient location, close to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
The room was spacious, airy, with A/C and a huge bathroom, perfect for a couple.
Having breakfast outside, under a handsome plant tree was a brilliant way of starting a new day.
The pool is of decent size, available for guests.
A great apartment, located centrally in the very lovely town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The apartment was spacious and bright, right in the centre of town. Our host was very friendly and accessible. Parking was close by, easy and free, though not part of the accommodation.
La Voile Bleue was the perfect spot for our stay, we couldn't have asked for anything more! Right in the heart of CDP, it was extremely convenient to restaurants, grocery stores and wine tastings and wineries. The host was kind and helpful as well, would stay again!
great location- 5 minutes walk to restaurants, tasting shops, grocery store. Less than 1/2 hour drive to Vacqueyras and Gigondas. Very large renovated apartment. Comfortable and user friendly. Private parking spot.
Sylvie and Thierry are great hosts. the B&B is top for a stop in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. You can easily access everything in the village. We will stay longer next time to enjoy the nice garden too.
Staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Selene and Nicoletta were amazing as part of the front desk staff. They truly have something special in Hotel La Mere Germaine.
