Lovely 16th century home that makes for an intimate just welcoming stay. The location allows easy walking access to the entire village. Parking was secure. Our room was very comfortable with a huge, updated bathroom. Breakfasts were delicious and served with panache. Frederick, the owner, was a huge help to us, whether allowing us to use his things for an impromptu picnic dinner or winery visit or dinner reservations. Would love to return.

An exceptionally interesting house, uniquely designed and renovated. A very artistic house and community. Lovely welcoming people with a nice "laid back" approach. Very clean, well organised and lovely breakfasts served in the courtyard garden. I had a lovely stay.

A jewel of a place if you want to have tranquility, be away from the big cities and enjoy the wonderful life of a small but ancient and rich in-history village llike this. No need to watch TV or the Brexit debates. Be happy to walk the safest streets in France and enjoy the clean air, the sunshine and the typical way of living of the locals. Its people are very nice and happy to welcome to their village. The two or three main restaurants could accommodate your needs and preferences if you have no Skills in French and at least one of them is owned and operated by a pleasant British lady. This is the inner France that has not changed!

Nice vineyards make a great scenery as you drive from village to village. Historic towns and green landscape create a postcard experience. Good food at reasonable price. It felt sometimes like being in Provence without the crowds and the high price!

We wanted to stay in a rural bed and breakfast run by English people in France and this property was ideal. We had some lovely meals, some great cooking. The village is very scenic and historic and has a few nice bars and restaurants. The owners could not be more helpful and welcoming we will certainly return.

Second visit to this lovely collection of houses that have been converted into one hotel.
Located right in the center of the village in a narrow street so no problem with car noise.
Garage parking is available (access vie the main road) so no problem with having to leave the car elsewhere.
Staff/owners were really friendly and informative and very helpful with offers to book dinner reservations etc.
Breakfast was good with lots of things available.
We arrived in Caunes Minervois On a cold and rainy December day and had had a very warm welcome at the hotel. Our room was big, high ceilings, old fashioned, typical French, lovely and warm and just perfect.
The room had a separate toilet and a shower room with the most amazing local Caunes-Marble wash basin. Which makes perfect sense as the Hotel La Marbrerie was the old marble manufacture.
Janelle and Bruce are marvellous hosts. It was a bit like visiting some old friends. We got recommendations for spots to visit and where to go for dinner. Caunes-Minervois is picturesque and L'Ancienne Boulangerie fits great in this lovely village. And the patio is a great spot to chill at the evening with a glass of vine.
We had a great stay. The hotel is more than lovly and elegantly furnished. The owners were welcoming and caring. The hotel is well located in the center of a beautiful french town. We felt very comfortable and we can fully recommend it for everyone. We wish Anthony and Ian the best for their future.
