Featuring a terrace, a restaurant as well as a bar, Boutique Hotel Casa Cánovas is located in the centre of Cádiz, 1.2 km from La Caleta Beach.

The hotel is very well located for exploring Cadiz. All sights, restaurants and shops are walking distance from it. The rooms are clean, comfortable with kettle & coffee machines. Carmen on reception was really helpful and recommended great restaurants. We had trouble booking train tickets to leave and the manager very kindly helped us to do it. I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough and would return again.

FAQs about hotels in Cádiz

Spain’s Oldest Jewel

Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.

Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city. It became a cosmopolitan centre of commerce, enriching a heritage still visible in its historic centre. Don’t miss its narrow streets, colourful squares, the Roman theatre, and the imposing and eclectic Cathedral. Some of the most unique hotels in Cádiz are located in the Old Town.

The newer districts include wide avenues and contemporary buildings. These are the areas of Cádiz with a larger offering of modern hotels on the beach and apartments for rent. Restaurants and cafés serving great local, Andalusian and Spanish specialities are also easy to find.

The railway stations of Estadio, Segunda Aguada, and Central link the city with the rest of the country, while the nearby Jerez Airport is 47 km away. If thinking of visiting southern Spain, check out the Cádiz accommodation deals on Booking.com!

This is a wonderful place; we never ventured outside of the old town - why would you. Yes there are tourist traps a plenty for the cruise ships etc but with a little thought one can easily find very authentic traditional places to eat and drink with wonderful friendly staff. The Roman theatre is a MUST see.

    Second trip to Cadiz.

Second trip to Cadiz. I liked it even better the second time. It's a lovely city to just wander in. Just enough attractions to keep one busy but not enough that you are exhausted trying to see everything. Parks are lovely, harbour is a great area to walk in, and the city streets are fascinating. Great food everywhere we went.

We loved the Convento Hotel as it was centrally located and made visiting attractions, restaurants and beaches very easy for us. The atmosphere in the city on Thursday 11th. of April was electric with the arrival of 3 cruise ships . We met some of the said participants who were only too willing to share their experiences. This made our road trip to Cadiz even more memorable, We enjoyed eating at La Chanca restaurant right beside the hotel so much, we went back a second night. Cadiz is well worth a visit.

The apartment is very well located, in the heart of the city centre of Cádiz. We were at the first floor, lucky because the elevator was out of service. The double bed is king size and comfortable. The decoration is modern and soft and the kitchen is quite well equipped, although there were only 2 forks in a 4 bed apartment. There is no parking but a public carpark very close. The swimming pool is on the rooftop but we didn't have a swim. It works as a hotel so there is a cleaning service after each night.

Lovely hotel set in a 'casa señorial', homely and welcoming. The staff were cheerful and very helpful. The whole place was clean and well kept. The bedroom was big with a spacious bathroom. In the central patio and in the solarium were a number of plants which made it seem that the windows opened on to a garden. There is a roof terrace where one can get a panoramic view of Cadiz. There is a roof terrace bar. In my opinion, one of the best places I've stayed in, in Cadiz.

Location right on the beach. Beautifully built hotel. Dining was great, nice room good food. Very clever design at every turn. Button for Do not Disturb and room cleaning lights up outside of your door. Had trouble getting the A/C to work, found out it is connected to the patio door which I had left 1/2;inch open after looking at the view. Great idea though to save energy.

Very stylish and modern hotel that was thoughtfully designed to make the most of a small footprint. The rooms were clean and comfortable, there was a nice rooftop pool and the staff were very pleasant on check in and check out. Location wise it was very close to the station and the main square, and the rest of the entire of Cadiz is very easy to reach by foot.

The apartment is great! A great size with a full kitchen and bathroom (including washing machine!). The location is great and as Cadiz is so small, everything is within walking distance. The owner is lovely and showed us all the best things to do! It’s definitely more of an Airbnb experience than a hotel.

Perfectly appointed and well located apartment. Bathrooms were the best part: super new and clean, shower was amazing with shower doors keeping all the water inside the shower and not onto the floor, just like in a luxury hotel. Beds were perfect too. I will for sure book again if I return to Cádiz.

Given that quality accommodation is frustratingly scarce in Cadiz’s old town, this hotel is an ok option in a sea of poor options and bad value. The best that can be said of Hotel Argantonio is that it’s clean, quiet, in the old town and the staff was friendly.
