Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel for our short term stay. The only hiccup would be a bit complicated check-in (ie you have to call the hotel and wait for someone to open it for you; but we managed nevertheless within 30 minutes) and limited parking space (albeit if you can walk for 2-3 minutes - you’ll find parking spaces no problem). The breakfast was nice, we had extremely comfortable pillows (5* hotels in Dubai sometimes give you much worse), the room warmed up well with the battery and the shower pressure was great. Basically everything worked, the atmosphere was like at home. The personnel were also very welcoming.

This family-run hotel is located on the edge of the woods in Otterberg, surrounded by hiking trails. The hotel is very quiet and all room have a TV and private bathroom.

We had a double room with a balcony overlooking the garden which was in full bloom and the trees were wonderful! We really liked the view and spending some time on the balcony chairs overlooking nature. The sunrise and sunset are beautiful to see, casting shadows and colors on the trees from the hill opposite the hotel. Even though there is a road near the hotel, no sounds bothered us and we slept well. The hotel was clean and the owners very welcoming and helpful, for which we were really grateful! I especially like their dog, Cookie, who is a sweetie. We appreciated very much the help we got in getting a taxi on the morning of our departure to take us to the train station - thank you very much for your help! The hotel is just outside the city limit of Otterberg, but you can get in a few minutes on foot to the center. Of course, in Otterberg, if you want to move around and for example, go to the supermarket, a car would be best, since they aren't close by. The hotel is near paths leading you to the hills surrounding the city, so this is nice. It was also nice that the toilet is separated from the shower and both spaces are separate since there were two of us, we could use both sinks at the same time since there is one in the toilet room and one in the shower room.
