Charming historic village centre, largely vehicle-free, with an unique collection of preserved stone buildings with characterful wooden balconies. Set in a wooded valley with ready access to excellent trekking and biking trails. Well placed for exploring the Troodos mountains, including the UNESCO listed frescoed churches.

Charming village for a cool night in the hot summer with the sound of flowing water from the river. Very easy to walk around. Parking can be an issue on busy summer weekends. Good food at reasonable prices at the village pub and restaurant

Kakopetria is a mountain village, so everything is within walking distance. However, there's a lot of uphills and downhills - prepare to get tired if you're walking around in order to explore it. On the other hand, it's amazing for hikers, with easy and difficult trails starting from a lot of points in the village. And of course, Kakopetria is located in the middle of the Troodos forest, so it is ... dressed in green, with amazing views and brooks running everywhere in the village! Finally, there is public parking for daily visitors, although it seems pretty limited for the number of people present at any time, and the locals seem to park everywhere!

One of the best traditional villages in Cyprus that I highly recommend to spend a couple of nights should you want to relax.
I highly recommend to stay at Ekali hotel due to its superb location.
An activity I highly suggest is to hike from Ekali hotel up to Old Kakopetria and check out that place. And shall you be able to go for longer distances try and walk up to the next village "Galata" which is clustered with Byzantine churches along the designated route or just follow the main road. Your way back from Galata to Kakopetria is gonna be more challenging as it will be an uphill but it is worth the experience.
Two of my favourite restaurants are Zoppos and Podji Poda. Zoppos is kinda more expensive nowadays but Podji Poda is a cheap place with humongous quantities and it is a great value for your money but as you would expect from such a place there almost certain you will be waiting at the line to have a sit and enjoy your meals.
There are many ATMs and pharmacy stores in case you have forgotten to withdraw money.
Something I would avoid is to forget my sunscreen as the sunlight UVs in Cyprus is very intense and sunscreen is a must have even in mountainous regions.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Plenty of places to visit close by. Stunning views and fresh air make you feel revived. Great place to relax. Food was really good and value for money. Trout exceptional! Very traditional with some very interesting buildings. The ducks walk around unconcerned about humans and the cockerel is a character for sure. 100% recommend especially for couples or adult groups. Great for walking enthusiasts.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this boutique hotel that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with a sense of tranquility that instantly cleared my mind and allowed me to fully relax. The interior design of the hotel was a perfect blend of minimalism and earthly elements, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone seeking a place where they can clear their mind, relax, and indulge in the beauty of nature.
It is brand new hotel, well decorated and very spoiling. We had large room and it is extremely clean.
The owner and the staff are so kind and friendly and make the hospitality unique than other places I have been. They have great recommendations for attractions in the area, where to eat and what to order at the restaurants .
The breakfast is so rich and tasty and they are using fresh and quality ingredients.
The room and hotel are all in amazing shape, and very modern, and the scenary around the hotel was amazing
The staff that accepted us were exceptionally welcoming, we had to check out very early, and knew we would not be at breakfast, and the staff lady at the reception of her own volition came up to our room and gave us food for the day after so we still have breakfast, exceptional service
Everything here. We had a great time in Kakopetria which is the best place in Cyprs. Thank you so much for the hospitality of Demetri and his father Timothy. It really exceed my expectation. And the value we get is much more than we paid and it is uncountable.
The panorama is excellent. Fully equipped. Clean and comfortable. Strongly recommend for family.
The owner stayed up far past the regular check-in to make sure we got in to the hotel and were looked after - the hotel itself is charming, in the heart of old kakopetria. Thick walls and timbered ceilings ensure the rooms stay cool in the heat. The breakfast is typical Cypriot fare, with excellent coffee and cold selection.
The room was spacious and comfortable, clean and tidy. The hotel is right next to a running creek amidst the trees, so the view was astounding. Also, there was the option of a spa experience in our bathroom, which we appreciated considerably, although there were no bath salts left in our room on the first day.
A no frills hotel with a decent breakfast. Nice, helpful personnel.
Well situated for trips to Kakopetria, Kykkos and Pedoulos, Troodos and even Omodos. A large road restaurant around the corner with a great Cyprian family atmosphere (if you like that). Good parking in front of the hotel.
A warm, cozy place in the center of old Kakopetria, with jacuzzi and traditional bed. Very welcoming hosts, ready to help with anything needed. During Christmas period was an amazing escape. Close to the nature trails of Kakopetria.
It was a cosy hotel. The view was super nice and the rooms were comfortable.
The staff wasn't too nice and we had to wait like an hour for them to come to receive us when we arrived, without any apology.
The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town. Really enjoyed the authentic experience of the studio. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with everything.
Amazing location, in the heart of old Kakopetria. Traditional rooms that takes you back in time.
Polite and helpful staff.
Highly recommend for a peaceful eacape
The location and the hotel was everything we’d hoped for. Very traditional. The lady who looked after us was very helpful and made us feel
very welcome.
