Sail Inn Lunenburg, hotel in Lunenburg

Just 35 metres from the waterfront of Lunenburg Harbour in Nova Scotia, this turn-of-the-century accommodation offers all rooms with a kitchenette.

The views from both floors have a wonderful view of the Lunenburg harbour, and it's so convenient to walk the town from the central location. It was like having my own apartment and I hope to stay here a third time if I ever return to the area.

We were probably 2 weeks off the start of the tourist season...

We were probably 2 weeks off the start of the tourist season, so Lunenburg itself was VERY quiet. Stores closed by 4pm/5pm and restaurants closed by 8pm. We were THE ONLY people out walking at 8.30pm around the waterfront and within the town. Oven Park was closed, as were many of the other nearby attractions. I would suggest your time your visit around the tourist season. The town itself is absolutely beautiful being a UNESCO site and we really enjoyed walking around a sightseeing. It is a beautiful town. Also, all of the restaurants we ate at were delicious. Salt Shaker Deli & Inn. The South Shore Fish Shack. Dockside Lobster & Seafood Restaurant

We had a phenomenal stay at this beautiful historic inn.

We had a phenomenal stay at this beautiful historic inn. The room was lovely and very cozy, resulting in 2 nights of very good sleep. Lisa, The hostess made 2 different creative and filling. Lisa gave up very good touring sites advice. Would stay here again with no hesitation. Recommend this inn very highly to others.

Lunenberg, of course, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but...

Lunenberg, of course, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but there's almost nothing to see here. The downtown is a single street a few blocks long with a couple of mostly-empty side streets. One picture, and you are ready to move on.

Beautiful place. A must see destination.

Beautiful place. A must see destination. We only had one night and should have stayed longer. Lots of places to see. Lots of places to eat but it’s busy with tourists. We went a little off the beaten track away from the sea front and found some less busy eateries.

The most interesting item was the Fisheries Museum.

The most interesting item was the Fisheries Museum. Most of the restaurant served fried foods but we ate at The Lincoln Street Food Store which was very good. We found that the restaurants were expensive for the type of food they offered. To get around in Lunenburg was fairly easy, there are a lot of hills. I think that if we made another trip to Lunenburg we would try to get into the Art Galleries, most were closed when we were there. We would avoid most of the restaurants and try to find one that didn't serve only fried foods.

Loved this town! Seeing and walking aboard the Bluenose II was great. Took the haunted tour - highly recommend. Great shopping for souvenirs but also for local artist's work. Hope to visit again!

We were so pleased with the location. The cottage (we stayed in the red one) had everything you could possibly need for your stay. Our unit was spotless, the beds very comfortable and true to the reviews. The cottages were quiet and the views very nice looking out to the Atlantic. Marcus our host was friendly and the few questions we had before arriving were answered very quickly. On our arrival he explained how to use the air and heat and gave us directions to the town of Lunenburg which was a few minutes away.

Excellent location. Immaculate room with nice towels and linens. Environmentally friendly accessories (TruEarth soap and shampoo, drinking glasses wrapped in paper vs plastic cups, ‘hang up towels you plan to re-use, etc). Nice décor touches in room and lobby. As restaurants in Lunenburg were closed for breakfast Thanksgiving Monday, the owner offered a hot breakfast in his downstairs restaurant as a customer service. Very considerate!

The hotel went above and beyond to help celebrate a belated birthday for my husband. We very much enjoyed the hotel and our overall stay in beautiful Lunenburg. The breakfast take-away due to covid was plentiful and very nice given the circumstances. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself back in Lunenburg.

Very friendly staff and there is parking right across the street, which is a real bonus in Lunenburg, as we had had to drive around for up to an hour trying to find parking when we stayed at other places in Lunenburg. Comfy beds, and very clean also ☺

No breakfast. Weather was pouring rain and also there was a serious house fire in town so sirens going for hours! None of that was in any way the hosts fault but that is what we remember about Lunenburg.
