The cabins and toilets are clean and have everything that one needs. It's definitely a place to relax and get in contact with nature at a very convenient distance from the different waterfalls.

We were there in late February. I loved this place, and can not wait to return! Tanchachin is in a great location for scenery, hiking, and canoeing to Tamul falls. I was there for 5 nights, cooked breakfast and dinners there, walked to the secret falls just down the road. This area is more rural than Tamasopo, and the one street town has small restaurants. I would never stay in Ciudad Valles -- too noisy, too many cars, too many people. Tanchachin was a great rustic getaway. I was in my old Jeep Liberty. Some of the roads have a bit of potholes, just drive carefully. We went to Aquismon for the day. Perfection. We went to Tamasopo for the day. Loved it! And like I said, canoeing to Tamul falls. Fabulous. There is so much to see in all of Huasteca Potosino, but this was great for a relaxing exploration of a fairly small area. Impossible it seems if you don't have your own car. We went on to Xilitla for two nights and that was wonderful as well.
