Within 15 minutes’ drive of 4 of the Isle of Islay’s whisky distilleries, Skerrols House has uninterrupted countryside views and is just a 5-minute drive from the coastal village of Bridgend. Located in the centre of the island, Bowmore Distillery is less than a 10-minute drive away. Exquisite location, big rooms and bathroom. Amazing breakfast (croissants are to die for!), and lots to do at the house (board games, etc.). To top it off, Thomas who was managing the place was ever helpful and great! Highly, highly recommended place!

Originally built as a summer residence by the Duke of Argyll in 1870, Dungallan Country House Bed & Breakfast is situated on the edge of the town of Oban. The tranquil and secluded, yet commanding position means that the hotel offers superb views to 3 sides. Oban’s promenade and the town’s shops are just a 10-minute stroll away. Good shower with strong water pressure, comfortable bed, fabulous breakfast, friendly staff, amazing view and a beautiful property.

You can play table tennis at the country house, and the area is popular for snorkelling and cycling. If you would like to discover the area, fishing, canoeing and hiking are possible in the surroundings. The house is so spacious, beds comfy, fantastic kitchen and brilliant games room, we are a family of six and the space was ideal. Communication great, well looked after and should be respected. Loved it.

Guests can enjoy a meal on an outdoor dining area while overlooking the sea views. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. Everything. The location was perfect, right across from the water, and within walking distance to Rothesay. The house itself is roomy and has everything you could want. The grounds are spacious and Carolynn and John encourage you to play on the front lawn with the various garden games they provide in the shed next to the house. They are very kind and provide little touches such as milk and biscuits, shampoo and conditioner and even disposable barbecues.

The country house features free WiFi throughout the property and free private parking is available onsite. We had an amazing stay at Mansefield House to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. There was plenty of space for all of our family. The hosts have thought of everything you will need (and more) to make your stay comfortable and stress-free! The village of Arrochar is a beautiful location and close to lots of activities. Would definitely return in the future!

With far-reaching views over Campbeltown Loch, this unique mansion sits on the Kintyre Way on the outskirts of Campbeltown. Craigard House offers free Wi-Fi and a restaurant with an extensive locally-sourced menu. It was a perfect property for our family trip to Campbeltown to visit our McAllister roots.

With handmade shortbread, fluffy bathrobes and organic soaps, rooms at Knockderry Country House Hotel are all individually designed. They come with antique furniture, are decorated with local artwork, and feature a flat-screen TV. We had a beautiful room, with a four poster, overlooking the loch. Lovely bathroom with similar view and a great shower, separate from the bathroom. Breakfast was a lovely traditional one, but there are lots of other options. We're already looking forward to our next stay at Knockderry House.
