The Fox & Hounds Country Hotel has 4 miles of salmon and trout fishing, and shooting, riding and walking are close by. The hotel is a great base for exploring North Devon, Dartmoor and Exmoor. Pets and children are welcome. Dogs are permitted in all areas of the hotel, including the bar and dining areas.

Bed was very comfortable, slept really well and woke to the sound of the birds in the morning. A squirrel visited as we sat having a cup of tea in the morning on the balcony. Lovely place, lovely grounds and a place to really relax.

A heaven if you are a dog lover with 95% of other guests having a dog with them and they were well behaved A 5 min walk takes you to Eggesford rail station where you can take a scenic journey to Barnstaple at one end and Exeter at the other. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is great with a good choice of cooked and cereals.SusanYoung couple

Everything worked as it should it was very clean and there seemed to have been lots of thought about what to put in the accommodation to make a peaceful holiday. Although there is no designated parking space we were able to park on the carpark outside the property each night. We mostly travelled out in the car but got a train to Exeter from a nearby village. Spoke to Ms Jones who was very helpful and resolved a small matter very quickly.
