The location is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in winter and we were quite surprised at how comfortably warm the tent was. The bed is also very comfortable especially with the electric blanket in the winter. The spa bath with a view was lovely. It is the perfect place to escape the busy city life for a while and just relax. If you want to get away and just relax you can stay on the farm comfortably for a few days without leaving. However, if you would like to explore and do some more activities there is a lot to do in nearby areas. Thank you for the brownies, it was delicious.

Location is awesome. Really different to other places I have been to in southern Africa region, with the lush greenery and the forest.
Portland Manor Country Estate is a historical working farm located in Rheenendal, on the Garden Route, some 25 minutes’ drive from the center of Knysna.
Nestled in a peaceful setting overlooking the forested valley, Woodlands Self Catering is located in Phantom Acres, 15 minutes' drive from Knysna.

We were thrilled by the artful attention to every aspect of the accommodation (inclusive of welcoming letter; flowers in the living area and bathroom; farm milk in the fridge; complimentary sherry; lindt chocolates on the bedsides) but far beyond all the personalised touches, was the location of our bungalow perched above a virgin afro-montayne forest with a zig-zag path descending to a mountain stream and a superbly crafted timber swing bridge.
Our stay was pure romance.
Featuring a garden, Forest Harmony offers accommodations in Knysna. There's a private entrance at the farm stay for the convenience of those who stay.

If you're looking for a place to forget that life exists, this is the place to go!
Do not think that you can "arrive and then go to town", you're going to arrive and wish to stay. Especially if you are an outdoorsy camping type. You might feel lost on the road going there, but just follow Crosby's directions and you will soon be in Harmony.
We stayed in the Whale Teepee, our first day there was buckets of non-stop rain, and we made the decision to extend our stay. When the sun finally made its debut we were captured by the views of the surrounding mountains. We also had a look around and saw the inside of one of the domes. We will just have to return to spend more time here and try and find the trail to the waterfall next time.
They are pet friendly, with resident Patch and Doodles welcoming you when you arrive.
It's not a 5-star lodge, it's 5-star glamping. With everything you need in the Teepee to make food on the gasburner if it's raining, or on the fire if it's not. There is also a communal kitchen that you can use.
There are solar powered showers and fire power baths in nature. Make sure to try both! There is plenty of wood and you can either split the wood yourself or ask George to help you with some wood for the bath or a fire.
There is also a garden, just make sure to watch where you step.
Well worth the stop and highly recommend 👌
Blackwaters River Lodge, Knysna borders the Goukamma River and is surrounded by indigenous forest. It is located 6.8 mi from Knysna, and features a mashie golf course with a bar and restaurant.
Nothing, well probably the pictures we saw when booking because when we arrived we were taken to some what looked like a haunted house at the back of the hotel and we were informed that unfortunately booking.com has placed us on those rooms. A scary scenario. There’s no way that anyone can sleep there, I don’t think even their staff sleep there. No bathroom in site had to walk to some corner room for bathroom use.
Amazing breakfast in the form of a picnic, so unique. Close to Knysna, all my needs were met and exceeded
Thanks to Mr du Preez whom chased us down to bring us stuff we forgot, I am eternally grateful
