The fabulous hosts made me feel welcome, spoilt, and cared for, even before I arrived. They really go the extra mile. I loved having breakfast in the garden. Honeysuckle is a short walk from the town centre, and far enough away to be a haven away from it. They have contingencies for water and power cuts. Thank you.

No breakfast provided so can't comment on that.
Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, off-street parking secure.
Great location for walking with your fur baby. Several stores sell Clarence Conservancy permits and maps and the conservancy is well-maintained and marked so it's safe and easy to walk and hike. There are a number of restaurants and coffee shops so it's possible to skip the self-catering option.

One of the best destinations in South Africa.
One of the best destinations in South Africa. The town lies amidst beautiful sandstone mountains, it has excellent restaurants and very interesting little shops. There are so many activities in the area like walking, mountain biking, quad biking and horse riding to name just a few. It is really a small town with a big heart!

The town has a number of interesting shops for homeware, clothing and home-produced preserves and food stuffs. There is a good range of restaurants and we enjoyed our meals at Clementine's, Gosto and the Clarens Brewery. Most places are to be found around the central grassy square and they are very easy to access..

Clarens is over commercialised.
Clarens is over commercialised. It mostly consists of numerous shops consisting of items you can find in many other places. The Emporium was a favourite. Excellent owner with a lot of details on the figuribes sold there. I thoroughly enjoyed buying my Burmese figure there. The art galleries are a must. Personally Clarens for me is more of a stop to go hiking and go to Golden Gate. It is too busy, bad roads - and I am used to potholes. The Protea hotel in the middle of town was a let down. Such a big hotel in nature was unnecessary. If you want to walk and just look at shops the town will work for you. Personally for me this is a good area to stop and go hiking and take a break from the city but other than that not somewhere I will visit frequently.
It was our second stay and hopefully not our last. What a wonderful place with everything you could possibly need. It is set on a very pretty farm and easy to reach Clarens or Bethlehem. Minda is amazing and does everything she can to make you feel at home. We were welcomed with delicious brownies waiting for us in our room and the fire all set up for us to light. They also have Braai meals you can pre-order to cook in your own private Braai complete with a beautifully made Salad and farm bread. Definitely a stop you need to make. Thank you.
From the hospitality from Karel, Bianca and staff, to the 5 star self catering apartment with all the little extra touches, this is my go to place from now on when visiting Clarens. Location was perfect. Within walking distance to the center which was ideal as you are not disturbed by the noise from the restaurants etc in the evenings. The views of the mountain from each room are spectacular which is a bonus. The breakfast made by Bianca was 5 star.
GPS coordinates only take you to the Clarens golf estate gate when you should actually drive another 14 km on the R 712 if not mistaken to see the farm board on your right hand side coming from Clarens towards Golden gate. Within 2 hours off reaching this destination I KNEW that I KNEW I am on HOLIDAY. I did not want to leave the lodge, all was great for body, mind and soul and spirit. Thank you for sharing this fully equipped property with your guest.
Self catering so the kitchen appliances, utensils, cutlery and crockery was perfect and I felt like I was in my own kitchen.
The location was clean, nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. Loved the big (compared to the tiny TVs you get at other lodges/hotels) clear Samsung TV.
I didn't mind the lack of interaction with the owner/reception because they are quick to respond on the phone.
Beautiful trendy pad that is perfect for a short getaway for 2 x pax.
Exceptional stay, unit perfectly decorated and all amenities such as electric blankets, fire place, reading material, sound system, hair dryer etc in place. Will def make use of Rustic Red Studio@Golden View Self Catering Clarens
Staff very friendly and Lizelle @ reservations was awesome and kept us updated with all information necessary.
The breakfast was excellent. It was served outside in a lovely garden.
The kitchen was well-equipped, and the hosts left milk, water, home made rusks.
The location was easy to find and close to the center of Clarens.
The hostess, Mercia, was extraordinarily gracious. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with her. Our stay there was the last night in S. Africa and my birthday and Mercia made it memorable!
The attention to detail in this hotel is unmatched. From a face cloth to help remove make up, a shower that has the perfect water pressure, abundant supply of amazing coffee and staff that make you feel like royalty. The hot breakfasts each morning were deliciously enjoyed overlooking the Clarens Valley.
360 days to have fun 360 ways!!!!
Quiet, all amenities, great scenery and fantastic walks right from the property, I went for miles with just seeing duiker, baboons and a great diversity of birds and not another person. Close to all the attractions of Clarens but far enough to avoid the congestion of town. Linda and Martin were great hosts
House nice and new. Fairly clean .Modern. Relatively comfortable . Nothing special. The right house in the wrong place . Netflix, if you came to Clarens to watch TV . Garage acceptable and clean . Designed for smaller cars and SUV's . Host took care to top up the electricity meter which is appreciated .
EVERYTHING!! This was by far the best accommodation we have booked in a while. Stunning !! The hostess Julia was amazing. The property was 7 star. We really loved every moment spent here. Will def be back! 😊 The location is the best in Clarens by far. 10/10
Spotlessly clean hotel, perfectly located in the centre of Clarens with amazing views of the Drakensberg. Fabulous breakfast, extremely comfortable bed, friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to South Africa.
It was truly an amazing experience. The hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are super clean and very comfortable. The staff are exceptional. The Spa in the hotel is amazing. I would definately go back here. A little hidden treasure in Clarens
The hotel facilities and location. The staff were all very friendly. Although more expensive, our stay was more enjoyable than at the town house where we used to stay. Staff at breakfast were all friendly and prompt.
Great views out of Clarens onto the mountains. Warm and comfortable for those cold nights along with all the home comforts. A great place to enjoy family and friends, whilst still having your own space as well.
Most beautiful Free State farm with the most amazing views. Close to Bethlehem and Clarens. Easy to find the farm - just off the main road. Our room was very stylish furnished and clean.
