Super quiet, cozy and accommodating. The lady that ran the front desk even set up breakfast early for all her early morning workers staying at the hotel. It was perfect because, I had to leave super early, so having a bite to eat was so much more important than she knew!

Lynchburg is a beautiful city with its mountains, trails and trees. There isn't an abundance of shopping there outside of the basic requirements, but they do have a mall. Downtown Lynchburg is pretty cool as it is very historical and built on a mountain side. There are residential areas surrounding downtown that I wouldn't necessarily be hanging out in day or night. With that being said, we didn't feel unsafe and found just about everyone in Lynchburg to be very friendly and welcoming. Liberty University campus takes up a good portion of the city and is absolutely stunning. Would definitely visit again.

Be warned.
Be warned. I am not a complainer and rarely write reviews but felt this needed attention. When we checked in at 3pm our room had a strong odor of cleaning solvents, later we learned why. We turned on the heat and the coil smell from the heater was obvious it had not been used since last yr. No problem, we opened the window for 2 hrs to vent the smell. Closed the window when we left and all seemed well. When we returned to our room late at night, our NON smoking room reeked of smoke leaking from the vents of nearby rooms. It was like it was permeating through the walls. It was nauseating. To top it off, the heater that was working OK when we left, now had a horribly loud clanking noise that would wake the dead each time it came on. The mattress left a lot to be desired and btw all the ‘safety’ features of multiple ceiling and wall sensors blinking brightly, it was like a dancing laser show blinding us with our eyes closed and adding to the struggle to get any sleep. I think I managed 1 hr of sleep- having to drive 4 hrs home the next day. To top it off, their new (modern) vending machines charged our CC over $25.00 worth of food but ultimately wouldn’t dispense any food unless you used cash. When I complained to the desk clerk, she acknowledged it was a problem and said to “just call the # for a refund” There isn’t a #. There is a QR code to a site to fill out a long list of info, to which I painstakingly did. It would never submit. The front desk just gives me a shoulder shrug and says, “it isn’t ours, we can’t help”. So they KNOW it is taking peoples’ money but won’t even give a warning with a sign. Be warned - their “breakfast” is a packet of instant oatmeal and Nutri-grain bars. The only plus is it is located across the street from Liberty University’s Stadium - which I am sure will keep it book to a rotating, unsuspecting new group of parents each yr.

Restaurants and river front wonderful.
Restaurants and river front wonderful. Only bad thing was got billed twice for hotel stay by booking.com, then again by Lynchburg grand hotel. Currently working with my credit card company as there is fortunately an easy paper trail. So just be careful you do not get billed twice for hotel stay. There needs to be better safe guards between booking.com and the hotel to prevent this problem.

The room was unclean along with a paint stain on the linen.
The room was unclean along with a paint stain on the linen. These concerns were not noticed until the next morning. Upon our arrival on Wednesday evening/night (10th May '23), we checked in, took our bags to the room and left. Upon our late return, we did not see the filthy and unclean areas in the room. Additionally, there was a paint stain on the linen (that I was told) that we did not see until the next morning. I reported the issues to the manager on duty. He indicated that I had to make the report to booking.com (which I did along with sending pics) on Thursday evening/night (11th of May '23) upon our return home. I was very disappointed that paying the requested "stay fee" to witness conditions of that nature. The uncleanliness is totally unacceptable on any level.
We are looking forward to hearing so that the matter can be resolved.
Thank you.
Blessings & Smiles . . .

We stayed in Lynchburg for 1 night, spent Saturday evening downtown along the James River. We had a great view of the river from No. 7 rooftop bar which was top notch service, and an amazing atmosphere. They only have pub food, but I would go as far as calling it artisan pub food. Then we wandered on to Star Hill Brewery, were I enjoyed a nice beer, and my fiancé enjoyed a slushed pina colada. Left there and hit Bootleggers, which was also a hit. Sunday morning we woke up early, hiked to the LU monogram on Liberty mountain, wandered the campus a bit during their "College for a weekend" event. What a beautiful campus. I am sure there is much more to do and had we have been there for more than 1 night we could have seen more of Lynchburg. We had a great time!

I was in Lynchburg for work and only had a couple free hours...
I was in Lynchburg for work and only had a couple free hours one morning. I enjoyed a great breakfast at Market on Main (Eggs Rebecca - a southern take on Eggs Benedict that was fabulous!) Afterwards, I wandered around a few blocks of the city even though it was cold and rainy and most of the stores are permanently closed. There are quite a few historical buildings/churches with interesting architectural details and a walk up the war memorial steps to the highest point in the city was moving. I paused for a few minutes at the top to take in the view down to the James River. Clearly this city was proud and thriving in an earlier time.
Would like to come back in better weather to further explore the area and city.
Great staff. Our first room had an issue,we reported it and almost immediately the technician responded. After he evaluated the problem, he suggested we be moved to another room, which we were. Though it is not a $500- $1000 dollar a night hotel, the customer service and care of the property elevates your whole experiance. It's a central location with wonderful amenities. It's always our favorite placee for family and friends to stay.
Front desk staff was very nice, the room good sized and comfortable. Price was right and the hotel is close to the University, shopping and dinning. I also liked the fact that they don't have daily room service. It's provided only after a 7 day stay or on special request. I actually prefer it that way. I don't have daily room service at home and don't want it at a hotel either.
Everything! This is the 4th hotel we’ve stayed at on our trip. it was absolutely wonderful! The staff was friendly, the room was immaculate, and the hotel itself was exceptional. Plenty of linens, gym was great, complimentary breakfast was great, and complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate 24 hours! Very pleased and will definitely stay here again when we visit Lynchburg.
The room was a nice size and really liked the layout. The closet with the drawers and shelf opposite was excellent. Loved the fact that you have a shower and not a tub. Thank you thank you for having plenty of hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels. Finally, a hotel does it right! Large shower with good water pressure.
The house, rooms and porch are gorgeous. The location is residential, with a park and a great bagel shop nearby. There are a lot of older houses under construction in the historic area of Lynchburg, including across the street, but the city seems to be planning to work on it.
I love the downtown location. And I love that they have parking. The hotel is decent but very dated and not luxurious. Although the beds are comfortable and it is clean, it just doesn't have like a sparkle and updated feel
Staff was very friendly. The room was great, very nice and comfortable. We travel to Lynchburg alot for family, so we have stayed in several different hotels. This will definitely be our first choice for future trips.
The staff was *exceptionally* friendly. Front desk staff were great conversationalists and the doorman gave excellent recommendations. It truly felt like a very welcoming hotel.
Such a great hotel for the price and location. So close to Liberty University and Monticello. Bed was comfy with lots of nice pillows. Very clean and a great breakfast.
