It’s a bit noisy because of being right on I80. But the walking and bike paths around the hotel are wonderful.

We enjoyed walking all over
Bummer was Hotel was falling apart No Elevator for our 6 days stay we were on the second floor of the hotel so we had to climb lots of steps to get to and from our room the ice machine was broken on our floor and when we first arrive for four hours no water
But all the staff and the managers were all very nice there and pleasant, very good breakfast and that was it

Great place to stay in Davis.
Great place to stay in Davis. Close enough to UC Davis that we didn't have to get up early for Aggie Day. There were good restaurants nearby (highly recommend the Japanese one) and a fab grocery store.

Be prepared for a friendly hotel that has slipped away from its previous high standards, with rooms badly in need of a facelift. It has all the facilities, though some are slightly shabby. It definitely needs tighter management and staff with better training.

The hotel met my expectation.
The hotel met my expectation. However, I was charged about $15 over the price that was shown during booking and confirmation. I asked why but was told it was for incidental and would be refunded upon checked out. It was not refunded when I checked out. In fact, I was not given a receipt even I had asked for one. Booking.com has not done anything to help me to resolve this situation. It is not so much about the $15 but it is the principle of the hotel not meeting its advertised price.

The city is beautiful the food is fantastic.
The city is beautiful the food is fantastic. It is possible to visit many places by walking and there are good public transport options to Sacramento and the Bay area. Davis is definitely one of my favorite places.

I lived in Davis for many years, so I know where I want to go when I am there. I recommend the Davis Food Co-op for bulk foods, organic produce, and spices hard to find elsewhere. There is an Asian market on Fourth street. The Farmers Market is Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. Davis Ace Hardware has a good selection of kitchen wares, towels, and napkins. Pence Gallery on D Street and The Artery on G Street have original art for sale. There are independent book stores downtown, one for new books and toys, another for used books. There are three movie theaters downtown - one for indie films. The arboretum and university campus are favorite places to walk. Unitrans buses can take you around town - walk down third street to campus to get on board. There is a variety of restaurants on Second and Third streets, E and G Streets, and the university student union on campus. Indian and Nepalese food are especially good. Amtrak service is frequent.
We loved the suite! It was very handy having a Keurig for coffee and tea. We used the refrigerator and the microwave The hotel has K cups for coffee but not for tea. I brought my own.
The shampoo, conditioner, and soaps were all good quality and the towels clean and fluffy.
The King bed was very comfortable.
The staff is very accommodating and kind but not very computer savvy.
We will stay there again as there are very few hotels that I can recommend in Davis.
The hotel is not quite in the city center proper but still very close by.
Even though the railway is close the noise from the train did not bother us.
Staff was very friendly, we had a long stay and they upgraded us to a cottage without us asking.
Free comfortable parking right in front.
We went during Picnic Day at UC Davis and there was no loud partying nearby.
Advice -- if you stay longer, get the paid cleaning service at least every 2 days.
How clean the room and amenities were. I was able to swim and relax with out worrying about catching some kind of bugs at my hotel. Especially since I was involved in a major automobile accident and my rental car was totaled as I was hit by a semi. Traumatic experience but I was able to decompress and rest at this hotel.
I’ve stayed in this hotel several times over a period of many years. My room was always extremely noisy and I had fitful sleep, if I had any! My last three experiences in the chain , two were awful but one was good. I did not like the cancellation policy because I would have checked out immediately at the Davis location
The hotel itself is a bit dated but there was ample space in our room and their complimentary breakfast is decent with many options and coffee. My family and I stayed here for my white coat ceremony and it was perfectly located near the Mondavi Center, which was great since it was over 100 degrees that day 🥵
Pretty much everything. Perfect friendly. The best out of all the hotels on our college tour trip. Hotel is every clean and super nice. Staff is exceptional. The town (Davis, CA) is so so nice. Nice that everywhere is 5-10 minute drive. Very bike friendly. Love the hotel has bikes for rent.
We stay at this hotel often when we visit our daughter at Davis. I love the small, equipped kitchen and comfortable room. Staff is always friendly and breakfast is good. I like the location, right off the interstate and close (but not too close) to campus.
Breakfast was not included. Location was great for visiting UC Davis, walking around downtown, hiking the arboretum trails, etc. For those who prefer walking, this location is perfect. The room was huge, with an amazing bathroom. Quiet, and comfortable.
The Vine Inn can be considered as a standard US motel, but with the benefit a great down town locaction in Davis. A nice renovated room with a comfortable beed raised the motel experience from the usually modest level for this kind of accommodation.
Great location near campus and nature trail and promenade. Nice small hotel in a mixed residential/light commercial, tree lined neighborhood. Everything was good except the rooms are small. But still comfortable. Also, close to some restaurants.
I was going to UC Davis. It was about 20 mins from Gallagher Hall and about 7 mins with Uber. It is a nice neighborhood, restaurants and shops nearby.
The cinema is also around the corner. Staff are friendly.
