The service was great and the food was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I truly appreciated speaking to one staff member in particular about the area and she helped me to understand the culture more. The sunsets and views are beautiful. It rained a lot and was cloudy but I was happy to catch a couple of views of the sun. I got a massage and that was a great experience. Very relaxing and at a beautiful location.

Jabar Lodge is located outside a small town about 30 minutes drive north of Stone Town with sea view. There is a beach but not a sandy one that is good to walk on or to enter the water from. The individual cottages are made of woven palm fronds, thatched roof, front porch facing the sea, and fully functioning bathroom. There is a very nice, modern hotel a 3 minute walk on the local road where you can pay to spend the day or just go to eat in their restaurant overlooking the water. The breakfast was always excellent starting with a fresh fruit plate, coffee or tea, eggs and toast. The owner Jamal is very nice and we were able to pay him to take us into town for a day and to a spice farm. I didn't think the spice farm was worth the money of the visit but it was very close by and run by the local community.

The Villa is a jewel. it was saved and restored from a nature that was literally claiming and swallowing it back. The White Villa stands Out from its beautiful green garden but without being intrusive with nature. The garden and the Door Collection absolutely deserve a visit. the room was really well designed and furnished. you have really the feeling to be in a small bubble suspended out of time.

The owner and his family were friendly and very helpful. He even helped us organised trips all around zanzibar. The breakfast was also good and diverse. We were always surprised by something different.
