Great location with access to the sea around the corner. One of the few sand beach spots in the area where you can actually lay down on the sand for a tan. Enjoyed snorkeling there. Not by the main bars so it’s actually peaceful to sleep at night. Good restaurant choices nearby and 5-10 min walk from the main restaurant and bar area.

    Foreign tourist destination.

Foreign tourist destination. The road leading to the beach has all the things one need to resupply and eat. There's a loud music playing even in the night. And there's a tourist extorsion booth (also called sudden environmental tax payment booth) located in this road. But sarcasm aside, it's a nice starting point for local attractions such as Kawasan falls, white beach and so on. Highly recommended.

It's definitely an area you'll want a motorbike for to make the most of your stay. Once you get out of town, the travel lightens up as you venture further south. We only had one full day to make the most of it and we were able to see two different waterfalls that were a little over 90 minutes away from Moalboal. We traveled here from Siargo Island, so the pace and hustle-culture of the locals was MUCH higher than we were used to. It's not a huge deal breaker, but hanging at White Beach turned into the same vendors coming by at least three times each within an hour span to ask us if we wanted the same thing they were pitching. Again, to be expected being in a more touristy area, but I give it a knock since for some that can be annoying. The main thing here was the waterfalls and snorkeling and those things were so worth it, so I'd say if you're a diver, down for snorkeling or up for some adventures with the waterfalls (i.e. jumps) than this place will give you all the great memories.

To get the best out of Moalboal you have to adjust to tropics-time and get up early; fantastic experiences you’ll remember forever, but a NORMAL day starts at 5am, an early one at 3am. Then an early supper while you watch the astonishing sunset from the hotel restaurant (the best in the town) at 5:30, and in bed for 9 or 10.

MoalBoal is a good mix of beach, swimming/diving, bars and laid back Philippino culture. You can eat Philippino, Greek, US, UK, and a variety of food. This is not a 5-star location for facilities, but it is outstanding value and welcoming for divers, and swimmers and has a relaxed vibe. There is a good mix of foreigners/visitors and Cebu locals... good for people-watching. I genuinely like this resort because I am not put off by the amenities. If you are looking for a 5-star experience... stay in a 5-star resort, not here. If you are looking for adventure from canyoneering (nearby) to diving or just swimming among shoals of fish and seeing turtles... then MoalBoal is for you.

There's a bit of everything here for most people, depending on what you're looking for. The foreigner area is a bit away (3 km) from the main highway. There are lots of restaurants and bars, dive shops and hostels there. There are plenty of daytime activities, but you may need to sign up for a group van the day before. I did and recommend the big canyoneering trip where you jump off short cliffs into pools of clean water (15 m is the highest, most are like 3-8 meters). You'll need water shoes and a heavy duty waterproof bag for your phone (no ziploc bags, they won't work). You will be swimming in one of the cleanest rivers with lots of water falls (ends up at Kawasan Falls) and there's volcanic rock formations and great views. I didn't do the whale shark viewing or the island jumping, but there are plenty of choices that are family friendly. At night time there's one or two smaller discos that are open late. I wouldn't highly recommend this area for solo travelers, it's more for couples and families and groups of friends. You should definitely rent a motorscooter if you want to see all the surrounding attractions on your own schedule, otherwise you'll be paying for a lot of trike rides or waiting on group vans. Gas is pretty cheap, and I only spent a couple hundred pesos on gas over three days to see pretty much everything (even Osemena Peak). Scooter rental is 350-500 pesos per day.

I love Moalboal! Amazing place for snorkelling, great outdoors activities - the canyoneering was one of my highlights of the Phillipines! Everyone should go to Moalboal while in the Phillipines if they can!

Heavenly, quiet and romantic place. A small hotel for adults with soulful hospitality. The best staff and a friendly owner. Comfortable rooms with everything you need. Fast internet. Well-groomed, closed territory. Beautiful reef with fish, turtles and other marine life. Incredible nature! In reality it is better than in the photo. Fresh delicious food and drinks are in a bar. Ideal location between White Beach and Panagsama Beach. You can rent a scooter and take excursion in the hotel. We want to come back here again and again!

Good hot breakfast w/ included , but a good cereal cold breakfast is to be had with fresh mangoes or bananas. The location is ideal to near by beaches , restaurants, fresh local markets , sardine/whale shark watching, and going to numerous beautiful cebu Philippines waterfalls. Me and my wife we’re impressed service , and in-house restaurant ( no need to go out!) Food quality is good , and with prices that won’t break the bank . We definitely return…. There’s a lot to do in moalboal. Parrot resort is a good place to start!

Perfect spot to be away from the crowds in the center or near Panagsama beach, yet close by to even walk there (did it several times). With scooter - its even better. Tucked away in a picturesque setting the ride is day or night is so relaxing. Makes also for a great base to explore all the sights around (waterfalls/ White beach etc). Just grab a set of snorkel and fins from the amaaazing hosts and wait for high tide (protect the corals!) and you will be amazed. One afternoon I spent like 20 mins gawking at a 2 turtles :)

This hostel is by far the bestest in Cebu I have ever found. Clean, quiet and very very safe. The staff are super friendly. It just walking distance to the center of Panagsama beach that even I walk alone as a female at night is very safe (past 10PMish). There is also a very lovely french bakeshop / cafe in the front that serves really great food and beverages. Plus next to the hostel entrance is a lovely artisan couple (filipina wife and american husband) that bake bagels - FRESH bagels every morning and other bread!

Very stylish bedroom with a gorgeous view from the balcony (upstairs) perfect for our stay in Moalboal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty to do in the area, the hostel is in prime walking distance to beach and lots of nice restaurants. We were able to rent towels and enjoyed the choice of drinks at the bar. We would stay again! Staff was genuinely friendly and very helpful. (Booked transportation from Cebu and then on to Oslob). Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. On sight restaurant, The last filling station was good. The beds are comfortable, and AC was cold. Tours were available, but we didn't participate in any. We saw sea turtles and many interesting things snorkeling just nearby by.
