Everything to do with getting to the location was well organised. From pick-up at the little ship doc to walking through the jungle for about 30 minutes to arrive at the premises.

This has been a tricky review for me to write because the room was very lovely, it had an excellent bed, and overall it was a very peaceful place. We had amazing sleeps, so that alone, is very valuable. I refer to this as our 'sleep retreat'. There are just a few issues I address below.
We really enjoyed the morning yoga with Lynn and the staff were all very kind. There is a nice outdoor area where yoga takes place and a restaurant area. Otherwise, there are not many options to go for a walk and explore, unless of course, you go into the jungle. This is a great place for someone who really wants to disconnect, enjoy the serenity and get lots of great sleep as long as they're okay with bugs and simple meals.
Tucked away in the Amazon forest, this jungle-lodge is a 1-hour boat drive from Iquitos.

The location is amazing -- right on the banks of the Amazon river. The lodge is completely screened in so you can experience the sights and sounds of nature (without all the mosquitoes). The family room is perfect for a family with 2-3 kids. Many other places don't have a pool and let me tell you -- the pool is a lifesaver to cool down in the hot afternoons! Our English-speaking guide did a great job personalizing daily adventures each day, from ziplining to visiting wild animals. The food was phenomenal! The chef was able to accommodate our pescatarian diet. Overall, they welcomed us like family and we would recommend the Avatar for a once in a lifetime experience!

Very good value for the money, and highly recommended. Clean, comfortable, nice air-condition, fast wi-fi, free refill water. Central yet quiet and safe location, a few blocks from main square (plaza de armas) and river promenade (malecón), close to many restaurants and shops. Welcoming and helpful staff, especially the owner, who helped me find amazing day-tours and the best restaurants. I really enjoyed it and will stay here again on my next visit.
